Holy COW!!

So I got a registered letter in the mail, and it turns out I'm royalty! :appl: :appl:

Apparently, I'm distantly related to the Danish royal family! My great aunt's brother in law is the cousin of Margrethe II of Denmark!

OMG! I'm so excited! Because of this I am entitled to a monthly stipend of about $1200!

I don't get an actual title, or any land or anything (I don't think, it's not mentioned in the letter), but I get ca$h!

Congratulations! Does getting the money require you to wire a large sum to Nigeria to allow them to complete the identity confirmation process?

Nope. This thing is covered with all kinds of embossed seals, and really heavy paper. I had to sign three different little cards to get the envelope from the mailman.

Apparently the government did some kind of geneology project, and I came up!

My branch of the family is Finnish, I didn't know there were any Danes!

This is just TOO awesome. :appl: :appl: :appl:

Is there any way you can confirm that they're legitimate?
 
Yeah, please be careful and skeptical.
Do not reveal any personal information especially your bank account info to "receive" the funds.

If I were you I'd call the Danish embassy to ask their opinion on this important official matter.
They have channels of communication with the Danish government that you can trust.

I had to call a guy named Jonas Gulstorff, in NYC, and he when he receives the cards back, I'll start getting checks in the mail!
 
Did you have to provide a social security number or any other highly personal information?

There was a local radio station running commercials for plastic surgery for babies. They went so far as to have the lead doc on the morning show to field calls because they had gotten so many. Hysterical.
