Today when SO got home from work, he called me and let me know that he had a sucky day at work, and was in a bad mood. I asked him if he was in the mood to talk, and he said he wasn''t really, and that he wanted to "blow stuff up", ie, play his video games before he went to class later that evening. I told him to have fun and relax, and didn''t give him a hard time (I mean, who hasn''t been in a bad mood before?), and he thanked me for being understanding about it. Sure, have fun!
So he plays his games, goes to class and comes home, tired of course. I am watching the Olympics and we are both on the phone, but there is not much conversation going on, which bugs me a little since we haven''t really "talked" all day. I ask him again whether he is in the mood to talk, and he says, again, that he is not. (we usually talk for HOURS everyday!) I am quite disappointed, but I don''t give him a hard time about it, and I let him go. 5 minutes later he calls back, and says that the relationship isn''t all about him, and he was calling back because he knew that I wanted to talk. Then he says that a relationship where the both people put the other first can''t go wrong. I''ve said this to him before, but it feels incredible when you know that you are both "embracing" the ethos. And then we talked for an hour and a half
I love this man.
