DH and I have agreed on color!! For us to agree on anything, furniture-wise, is huge.

We think, given the pinkish beige walls, light carpet, white trim, and oak doors/cabinets of the new house, that the best color for a sofa and matching chair would be a warm rosy brown.

This one from Lack''s is a contender:

We like the matching ottoman (we use one now instead of a coffee table); and we would probably get some different pillows that have a greater contrast against the brown.

I like this sofa from Flexsteel. I think it's too big (42" depth") but I like the style and would gladly buy a smaller version.

Btw, I'm a total sucker for nailhead trim and I very much like the sofa you picked out.

I swoon every time I see this sofa from Mitchell Gold.

I'm probably going to look into buying this sofa. I have bought sofas only for them to sag and break so I'm going to buy from Flexsteel because of it's warranty.
I want a hard back because I don't want saggy pillow, so when the pillows I buy start sagging, I'll just replace them.

Have you considered mixing the set up a little? A matching chair and ottoman is a little matchy-matchy and might become a sea of brown. Just food for thought.

What''s your budget and how would you classify your style? Also, any kids or pets?

What about this one from Pottery Barn? It''s in "everyday suede", Nutmeg. It''s $1200.

I''m a huge fan of PB sofas because they''ll stand behind the cushions. If they begin to get all "smooshed" down on the back, as they tend to do over time, PB has very affordable replacement inserts and have been known to replace free of charge if you sofa is under 2 years old.

We have a huge furniture seller not far from us. I''ve attached their website which links all big name furniture. Hope it helps.

No kids. One geriatric cat who doesn''t usually sit on the sofa/chairs.

Style? I like a more overstuffed look, DH less so. We''re not into boxy contemporary (Ikea-ish). We like our pillow backs attached to the sofa; we like a rolled arm; unobtrusive feet or skirted; fabric instead of leather; chenille velvet rather than microfiber. More traditional than not.

To answer someone else''s post, we want a sofa and matching love seat/or chair so we each have our own space to wallow in.

We''ve shared my old loveseat in lieu of a sofa for two years now. Time to stretch out, alone. We have a big enough living room that a different chair (maybe a small leather with hidden recliner) can be in a corner with a reading lamp. We might even get two loveseats, arranging them in an ''L'' with the ottoman in front of both. But I kind of want the length of a sofa.

Thanks for the photos everybody. Keep ''em coming!

How do you feel about a sofa with a chaise? Or a sofa and a chaise?

King furniture makes many amazing lounges, but this one would have to be my favourite. You can buy different pieces and make it look however you want
