It was acute cholecystitis.
Believe me, that really sucks.

we dont know each other, stephan, but i''ve read many of your posts in rockytalky. hallo, i''m kareyn AKA whitby :)

and i''m sorry to hear you''ve been unwell! gall bladder issues suck the big one. did you have it removed while you were in there? if so, was it done through a scope, or were they unable to remove it due to to inflammation/infection?

i hope you''re feeling 100% really soon. take care. (geeeentle hug)

Ouch!

I''m glad you''re home, and hope you''ll be feeling better soon!

No, they didn''t remove it. I have an appointment end July for the operation.
They only gave me antibiotics.

i hope you''re feeling 100% really soon. take care. (geeeentle hug)
That''s so cute, I already feel better now!
While sitting in the hospital one week, I did quit smoking.
That''s a good thing!
And I will avoid fa(s)t foods.

Thank you!
I feel much better physically today, but man, life is frightening!
When I went into the hospital, I thought I had terminal cancer because the pain was everywhere.

Stephan,

I missed you and wondered where you were. You take care of yourself!!!

Thank you Lorelei, that''s so friendly!
It was time to change my life: too much sugar, fat and smoke...
Well...

Well, while what you do have is certainly not fun, I'm glad it wasn't terminal cancer!

Life really is scary sometimes. It can change so very fast.

How scarey for you! I''m so glad you are feeling better and are home. I''m sending dust your way for continued healing!

I hope you feel better soon, take care and sending healing vibes thoughts your way.

Stephan I'm SO HAPPY you are home! I had 2 attacks of this at 3 and 6 wks postpartum (just a few months back). The pain is EXCRUCIATING. I thought was having a heart attack and was on my hands and knees praying not to die.

The pain felt like Labor pains and that's no picnic...

So I pray that this is it for you and it won't occur again before your surgery!

Stephan,
OUCH!!! That sounds super painful. I am glad you are on the mend!!

Queen mum - feel better!

I know the pain you were in. I have had it myself. I ended up having my gall bladder removed. I thought I was dying every time I had an attack! I am so glad you will be having yours removed!

I hope you''re feeling better!

Stephan, glad to hear you are feeling better. Hopefully, the surgery will be minimally invasive (laproscopic) so you''ll recover quickly. I''ll be thinking only good healing thoughts for you!

Stephan, I''m sending lots of healing thoughts your way, and wishing you the best for your surgery at the end of July.

you quit smoking?? that''s GREAT! hang in there - that''s such a worthwhile thing to do! even if you have to count off the SECONDS - you MUST make it to 2 months. after that, it''s so much easier. well done on your first week adding years and quality to your life!

Stephan, I am sooooo glad to see you back, I have missed you. OUCH gall bladder attacks are so painful. A friend of mine had one last year and had hers out.

Please take care of yourself, my friend. We are all thinking of you.

Sending you a great big hug.

Love, Linda

Congrats on quitting smoking while you were suffering through this! It should really help your lungs out for the operation at the end of July, since it takes about 8 weeks for them to really start getting back to normal function.
Hope everything goes smoothly for you between now and then!

Sending lots of healing dust! Hope you''re feeling ok!

Aw queen, I''m sorry to hear of your illness. I wish you major dust on your home recovery.

Thank you so much!!!
That''s so friendly, it really makes me feel good!

So I pray that this is it for you and it won''t occur again before your surgery!
That''s my biggest fear too!
Right now, I avoid fat and meat and try to eat more fruits and vegetables.
Quitting smoking seems easy, even now that I''m at home.
I tried so many times before, but this time has to be the good time.

I was so afraid it was cancer on the way to the hospital.
The pancreatic cancer of my mother began on a similar way (painful breathing, abdominal pain, ...).

Stephan,

Well done on quitting smoking, this is a wonderful thing you have done for yourself! I am proud of you, I know it isn''t easy but you are over the worst now

CONGRATULATIONS ON QUITTING SMOKING!!!!

I had emergency gallbladder removal in March, 2007 and I thought I was going to pass out from the pain. It was awful not knowing what was wrong until they found out and then took it out!

My prayers are with you for comfort and healing.....

Best wishes for continued recovery - once the surgery is over, no more pain!

Hang in there and congrats on quitting smoking!

I hope you have an uneventful recovery!! I had my gall bladder removed when I was 22. The pain of the gb spasms was the worst I've ever endured. My Dad had the surgeon save the gall stones in a jar for me. Unbelievable

Feel better soon.

Once again, thank you all for your good wishes!
It was very helpful for me to post on this forum.
I feel better and will be back to work on Monday.
I''m still afraid of the surgery, but friends say I shouldn''t.
Thank you again!

I''m glad you''re back and I hope you feel better soon.

Glad you are feeling better, and hope your operation is as smooth as silk. Sometimes illnesses are here to remind us -
"whoo I really like life!"
