Hello ladies...
Thank you so much for all the well wishes in my last thread.
I am off to bed in a second as I am exhausted but I had to pop online and let you know how it went.
It has been the most amazing day ever. Ok, so it rained like crazy just as we were about to set off for the ceremony and I got rained on outside during our bride and groom portraits. I got to the reception looking a little worse for wear but I don't care. I married my best friend today
He was amazing! He teared up when he finally turned to look at me when I got to the end of the aisle. I nearly lost it just before I walked in...I was almost in floods of tears, but took some big deep breaths and composed myself enough to walk down the aisle with a smile on my face! Everyone in the congregation was a blur except his Mum and my Mum... I managed a smile for them but everyone else? It was like their faces were blank I was so focussed and terrified!
The reception was amazing...the food was beautiful...and the room looked gorgeous. The landlady said it was the nicest wedding she has been involved in, which makes me feel proud considering all the DIY projects I undertook for the venue...the centrepieces, placecards, favour boxes etc. I really enjoyed it though.
I have a funny story or two which I will go into in more detail another tme but to keep it brief...I got my heel stuck in a drain during the portraits. I mean wedged completely. It was hilarious. There are pictures of me stuck...my lone shoe stuck after I removed my foot etc. Great fun.
My HUSBAND'S speech was beautiful...he wrote a poem about the day, our life together, thanks for everyone, special thanks to the parents etc and had my mother and I blubbing!!
Oh...and my mother managed to score a signed photograph of DAVID ATTENBOROUGH for us. We're both huge fans!! I was amazed!
The DJ was fantastic and really played a great selection for us. My husband and I were the last two standing pretty much...just our two friends left with us sweaty, exhausted but happy! He playes so many of our favourite songs as well as general stuff for everyone! We rocked the joint!
Anyway, It's gone 1am and we're leaving for Paris early so I need to sign off for now. I will be back with pics and full stories as soon as I can!!
