If you took 10 diamond rings....

and we'll assume they're all RBs, approximately 1.5ct - 1.8ct, ranging from G-H, VS1-SI1 in a 2mm pave setting. If 10 PSers put their diamond rings with the above specs into a dish and mixed them up, can you tell which ring is yours?

Yup. I would know. I know exactly where the inclusion in my diamond is and exactly which way I would need to look at it in order to know :)

I'd be too busy slapping whoever put my ring in a dish and clanked it against others to worry about which was mine! :cheeky:

I don't wear an RB, but if my ring was mixed up with nine other OMBs of similar specs I'd be able to tell which was mine because it's an unusual setting. I'd probably be able to pick my stone out of a lineup too because I spend waaaaaay too much time staring into its facets. Look into my facets . . .

Well, I have a smaller ring size and I know my inclusions so between those two I'm sure I could figure it out. When in doubt, there's always the girdle inscription and subtle quirks to the laser-welded sections of my setting.

But... if I "accidentally" ended up with a larger stone I probably wouldn't complain

I don't have a solitaire or a RB, but I'd sure love to play in that dish!!! :Up_to_something: (and then ... maybe I *WOULD* have a solitaire or a RB!! )

NO question. I have a serious eye for details which makes buying anything for me impossible. When I tried to have my ering remade I have up after several attempts because they were all slightly off. I would always be able to tell my version from others.

Yep. Not many have this cut.

You didn't say that you put my ring in the bowl with the other rings, so I assume it would still be on my finger.

While I don't have this exact ring, I can tell you that if there were a dish of ten of my ring, I would know.

It is the way it is set when jewelry is crafted by hand. No two are exactly alike. I can even tell you, from looking at the top of my ring, where the PLAT andTACORI marks are inside. It's the prongs holding the stone. Handmade, no two are absolutely the same size.

And, if that weren't enough, I've looked at my stone under a loupe enough to know where my inclusions are and what they look like.

I was pretending that wasn't an issue ;)

Mine is a princess, but I would know mine...I know the inclusions and there are so many that it would be the worse one in the bowl lol

Those stats you posted are very close to mine, so I can play this game. I think I'd be able to pick my diamond out under close scrutiny. I look at it at least 100 times a day, it never leaves my finger. I see my diamond more than i see my husband and kids!

LOL, we PSers sure are an obsessive bunch aren't we :cheeky:

I'm still getting to know my pear diamond RHR so I probably won't be able to recognise it in a line up (so chances of me picking up a bigger F diamond with a better clarity is pretty high :appl: ) but I will definitely be able to spot my sapphire engagement ring a mile away. I stare at it every chance I get and I can pick out its inclusions pretty much immediately. And because I've already 'scarred' it twice with chips (because I'm that clumsy), I now obsessively check my ring every night the minute I get home, run my nail over the top to make sure there are no new chips.

I wonder, if you took 10 NON PSers rings and carried out the same exercise, would they be able to pick out their own ring?
