what would your kids' name be? And what is the song title/who is the artist (in case we've never heard of it)?

Amie! (Pure Prairie League)

Actually, one of my friends is named Amie after that song. It was playing on her mom and dad''s first date, so they decided to name her after it. Now every time her mom hears the the song, she calls Amie, crying, and plays her a little bit of the song on her voicemail. I definitely wouldn''t be that extreme about it, but I love that name and that spelling and that song, lol. Plus BF''s dad knew Amie (as in, the girl the song was written about).

I forgot to add mine...

"Sweet Baby James" by James Taylor
"Jane" by Barenaked Ladies

I wasn''t named after this song (it was recorded after I was born) but my name is the same as the song/old child of Ozzy Osbourne.

And I would totally go with "Hey There Delilah." :)

I like Roxanne by the Police.

Roxanne is a great choice, DF.

"Hey There Delilah" is such a great song, so sweet. I''m assuming you''re referring to Ozzie''s older daughter, Monkey, is your name spelled the same?

The first one I thought of was "Anna Begins" by the Counting Crows. Love them and that song!

Zoe, your name just reminded me of another great one..."Flowers for Zoe" by Lenny Kravitz, written for his daughter.

Flowers for Zoe
Love for Zoe
Angels and rainbows
All kinds of things you
can call your own
Garden for Zoe
And oceans for Zoe
Jungle gym playgrounds
All kinds of things
for you to explore

Flowers for Zoe
Love for Zoe
Angels and rainbows
All kinds of things you
can call your own
Yeah yeah yeah
God is for Zoe
And heaven''s for Zoe
Oh can you believe
That everything is
waiting to unfold?
You can call your own
You can call your own
You can call your own

Haha -- I wish my name was Zoe. I like that song, and Lenny Kravitz as well. Good pick!

Yup! My mom saw it on an ad for a porcelain doll when she was 18 and vowed it would be my name.

I''m another fan of "Hey there Delilah." I''ve always liked the name...and if DH and I ever have a daughter, her name would probably be Delilah. And the song is just so sweet and pure. I just love it.

LOVE that song, LOVE that name!

Lucy...Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds

Oooh, and another -- "Sweet Caroline."

I can''t think of any boys'' names for some reason.

ZB, Zoe was my favorite name for a LONG time. It''s beautiful.

Monkey, what a great name story.

I love the name Lucy, and the song.

Here are some boy songs, ZB:

Adam''s Song (blink182)
Be Good Johnny (Men at Work)
Captain Jack (Billy Joel)
Daniel (Elton John)
Danny Boy (traditional Irish song)
Gabriel and Me (Joan Baez)
Jack and Diane (John Mellencamp, Cougar, Cougar Mellencamp, whatever his name is right now)
Jacob''s Ladder (Rush)
Joey (Concrete Blonde)
You Can Call Me Al (Paul Simon)

If I had to name my child after a song there are 2:
Josephine (By the Wallflowers) & Veronica (by Elvis Costello)

Thanks for reminding me of those, Kim (Kimi, right?)

I''ll choose Jack from "Jack and Diane" and Daniel -- both for sentimental reasons.

Okay, put ''em together and you get Jack Daniel -- not really what I was going for.

Jude - I have a friend who named her son after the Beatles'' song, and if I were a die-hard fan (which I''m not), I would totally go for it, too. Jude is a gorgeous name, marred a bit by Jude Law, but whatever.

Jeremiah - just because he was a bullfrog. :)

Sara - the song rocks in this somewhat sweet, annoying way. "Saraaaaaaaaa, Sara, storms are brewing in your eyes..."

Cecilia - I get this one stuck in my head often.

Ditto to Sweet Caroline.

I like the name Jamie for both a boy or girl so Jamie (by Weezer). JestJenn, I love Veronica (by Elvis Costello) and I like the name too so that is a good one!!
Elmorton, I love Sera, my favorite aunt who passed a while back ago loved that song so I always get teary eyed listening to it.

Ok, I was actually named after a song......
wait for it.............
with no words

My parents were a bit of hippies. I am named after the song Jessica, by the Allman Brothers. Actually, I like the song, it is a nice feel good, driving on the open road kinda song.

Hilarious!

Also, I had a college friend named Jacqueline Dianne after the Jack and Diane song...I think its very pretty

loverocks, I think it''s cute your friend was named after that song, and you and a song with no lyrics, that means you can write your own!

I know a Veronica, Skip, and she is one of my favorite people; that song is fantastic, great choice!

Zoe, sans reference Jack Daniel is a good, strong name.

I used to babysit a Caroline and I sang that Manilow song to her a lot. She would twirl in circles while I did. So cute.

I''d pick Gloria by Van Morrison ... I completely love that song... possibly enough to commit someone else''s life to it

This one would be for a girl.

Can''t think of one right off for a boy, and besides, I already have 3. Girls names were easier.

Oh, Ellen, just perfect!

Thanks Kim, I thought so.

Totally dorky, but I loved the name Madeleine after the Hanson song of the same name. I was in about 5th grade and it made me almost want to change my name.

Other good ones

Mary Anne- Boston''s "More than a feeling"
Maggie- Rod Stewart''s Maggie May
Sally- Stevie Ray Vaughn''s ''Mustang Sally"
Suzie- Everly Brother''s "Wake Up Little Suzie"
Lida Rose- from the Music Man

Not sure what I would pick, but the coolest one I ever met in real life is a girl named Rhiannon.
The first thing she said after we met her was "yes, my parents are Fleetwood Mac fans."

I LOVE LOVE LOVE Jude, Lucy, and Jack- but I thought I''d add these two as well:

Elisabeth- Goodnight Elisabeth, Counting Crows
Grace- Grace is Gone, Dave Matthews Band

Mary - Kenny Chesney''s "anything but mine"
Jack and Diane - the song
Serilee (pronounced see ril ee) - Sister Hazel
Tommy and Gina - Livin on a Prayer by Bon Jovi
Janie - Janie''s got a gun Aerosmith
Maggie - Wake up Maggie

I think I like Serilee the best.

I''d pick "Layla" by Eric Clapton

I love that song!
