Hi Everyone,

I started a thread like this several years ago, but I did it in RT, which I now realize disappears in a day or two. So I thought I would ask people again. Maybe your answers are different than they were several years ago.

If you could have only five pieces of jewelry of the jewelry that you already own, what would they be and why? Let's just say that a pair of earrings is considered one piece.

I'll start. For me, the obvious reason I would keep all the pieces is because I wear them the most. I'm a wearer, not a collector.
1. My OEC ering. I love it. MK Rocks. It's getting to the point of being a forever piece. Maybe no more upgrades for me?
2. My single cut eternity band by Victor Canera. I love it and wear it even when I don't wear my ering.
3. My 2.3 ctw studs. They are the only earrings I ever wear. I take them off only to clean. I don't even want to upgrade.
4. My diamond tennis bracelet. It's just fabulous.
5. My .69 AVR on a fixed pendant. I also never take it off. I figure it just gets cleaned in the shower. Gross, I know.

Interesting: This makes it very clear to me that my designer pieces, Cartier, VCA, as much as I love them, they are secondary to these pieces. I'm a diamond girl. And I'm fairly lazy. This explains why I don't change my jewelry much.

Looking forward to others sharing...

How would that change if the five pieces were among the jewelry pieces you already own Pinto?

I don't have anything that big! . I think I'd need like a 25mm stone.

I was just telling @Resonance.Of.Life that I'd want the horse head bezeled to protect the ear points and fit for my middle finger. If someone pissed me off I'd show them my horse head and start humming The Godfather theme song.

Pinto - post a pic of the Horse Head! I'm intrigued!

I want to upgrade ALL my jewellery, so I'm going to be no contribution to this thread :D

This is a good thread LLJsmom as it is making me think. I don't wear any piece of jewelry every single day except for my ER and one or 2 of my eternity bands with it. These are the only constants and even the WBs vary so the specific band not so much the constant. I switch my earrings every day. And that's basically it. My rings and one pair of earrings (and which earrings just depends on my mood and what I decide to wear that day). But my Cartier Black Opal ring is one of the pieces while I rarely wear I would keep probably no matter what because of what it represents to me so I will include that in my list. I have a Rolex watch and a Cartier tank but I haven't worn any watch for years however if I had been answering this a few years ago these watches would have both been on my list as I used to wear one of these watches every day. So I realize my list might once again change if you ask this question next year or even next month.

OK so here is my list of the 5 pieces I would keep as of today May 2nd 2017.

1. Bea
2. Vintage platinum suisse cut diamond band
3. French cut Sapphire eternity band
4. A pair of earrings
5. Cartier Opal ring

I'm definitely a bling ho since I wouldn't keep anything I own lololol! I'm no help @LLJsmom ! Give me 5 new boulders! I wish I could be more sentimental about bling.

@Alex T - horse head!

Wow @PintoBean that is a horsehead I can fall in love with dayum.

OK so this thread is nothing without pics yanno? So let's get this party started and here we go. 5 of the pieces I don't want to live without.

Bea and her entourage. Minus the first band since I don't wear all of them like that. I usually wear the vintage sapphire and suisse cut band with Bea these days.

beaandherentourage.jpg

so that takes care of 3 pieces. Bea and 2 of the 3 vintage bands.

Next up my Cartier Black opal. These photos of the black opal are from right now. Taken this dreary morning to cheer myself up. I wish we could share videos!

cartierblackopal2017.jpg

and finally the pair of earrings I have been wearing most often lately. This can and will change but for now this is my most often reached for pair.

OK your turn...include the photos of your 5 pieces pretty please.:appl:

I can't play. I don't (yet) own what I'd like to list.

Although, maybe I can adopt some of Pinto's stunning collection. :))

Missy, we can never see too many photos of the beautiful Bea! She's gorgeous!
Your bands you've paired with Bea are perfect!

My 30th wedding anniversary gifts, rainbow sapphire bracelet and necklace (can't find photo but basically similar to bracelet)

IMG_1738.jpg
My 25th wedding anniversary gift, 4.56 ct pink sapphire, 1.25ct VSi I tapered baguettes in platinum

IMG_1736.jpg
.50ct Si1 g/h diamond snowflake earrings, easy to wear every day

IMG_1723.JPG

My Raindance style ring, I wear it everyday because it's practical and pretty (and needs a good clean!)

I think my staples are easy. The rest is really hard.

1. wedding set (solitaire ering and pave wedding band) - these are my staples and don't change

The rest depends on whether I'm at work or whether it's a weekend. Daytime vs dressy.

Work: 46 inch mixed silver Tahitian rope (it's multi-toned smooth drop shaped Tahitians of mixed sizes). It has a matching bracelet that is designed to go in or be taken out to alter the length to suit different neck lines. It's classic and not too dressy enough to be ok for work, and dresses up nicely for fancier nights out.

Dressy: 18 inch 7.5-8mm AAA Akoya strand with 2 inch extender. It's just classic and makes me feel fancy. Or possibly my 10 - 12 mm white south sea strand for the same reason. It would be a hard choice.

Weekend/casual: This is tough too. It would be a tossup between my faux Effy starfish (unknown metal and cz that were called 'white sapphires' when I bought it in St. Kitts, but I'm pretty sure it's cz and was priced that way too), or my silver and larimar pendant I bought in St. Croix. They are both perfect for summertime, weekends, or traveling.

Earrings: Hmmm. This is tough. I guess if I was limited to a single pair, I'd probably go for my 1 ctw diamond studs. Or my small white gold hoops.

Oh no. This means I don't have room for a ring. I have a few lovely cocktail rings. Shoot.

Ooh, this is fun but hard!
1. Sapphire ring
2. Tourmaline necklace
3. Moonstone bracelet
4. Emerald ring
5. Antique hand carved jadeite bangle because it's truly one of a kind.

Jesus wept, Pinto!! Do you actually own this?? What are you going to do with it?! It's just amazing!!!!!
I wish I owned it!!!

I see all these bling **** pics with edge to edge coverage and I covet!!!! My size 9 finger needs a corset!

:lol::lol: I think you are doing VERY well at covering your fingers with those huge rocks you own!

Ha PB! I need one of those too! A large one for a pendant on a long thick chain so I can pick it up and look at it. No ring.

Of my things I would keep:

1. My ACC ring
2. My French cut eternity
3. My Tiffany rose gold and platinum 2mm band
4. My Caleb Meyer rose gold leaf ring
5. My custom 4mm eternity modeled after the Tiffany Legacy

IMG_4977.JPG IMG_4997.JPG IMG_5004.JPG IMG_5009.JPG IMG_5020.JPG Well, this is kind of easy for me bc I did a massive sell off of my collection last winter, and I practically only kept my five favorite pieces!

1) 7 mm round mahenge spinel set in 18kyg, @1.60 cts, paired with a 14kyg band by Metalicious (I consider this my ering set, though I am in a phase where I rarely wear rings)

2) so this is a loose sapphire, it's @6 (slightly under) mm, untreated and I bought it to "match" my studs and pendant (all three are pretty close in color thought not an exact match - see below). I have plans for it to be a ring, but the setting I want by Metalicious is pricey for being just a gold setting with no diamonds, etc (over $1k). I love her work, it's modern, fun and original - but her pricing has gone way up since I first began buying from her 4-5 yrs ago; I think it's actually doubled. So I keep putting off setting it...I need to pony up and do it bc I really want to be able to wear this sapphire! I've had it since last fall.

3) bezel Ceylon sapphire pendant (matches the setting style of my studs, see below), gem itself is @1.75 cts/7 mm, untreated, set in 14kyg); I wear the sapphire right next to a "mama bird" style 14kyg pendant made by Modernbird; both pendants are on a long, @36 in chain.

4) bezel set Ceylon sapphire stud earrings that I wear every day, they're my perfect preference in size (only 1.15 ctw/5mm each, but with the chunky-ish bezels they're a bit over 7 mm finished size, untreated) 14kyg, set for me by Metalicious

5) Tiffany 5 heart bracelet, 18kyg - I know many ladies think the heart motif is a bit juvenile, but I love this bracelet. It's just casual and sweet but goes with everything, and I love how it's not too heavy but not too light. (One day I would love to upgrade to the VCA Alhambra 5 motif YG bracelet).

So obviously, I'm a CS girl, no diamonds :). Sorry if this is too much detail, but I personally love reading the details about jewelry pieces, so that's how I write my own posts, lol.

Oooh that black opal, OMG!!!

These are special because: the studs, necklace and bangle were purchased with an inheritance from someone who was pivotal in my life; the AVC ring was a treat I gave myself to commemorate my retirement; wedding ring -- pure sentiment. Sorry for the bad pics of rings and bracelet.

1.50 tcw ACA studs
1.30 tcw 3-stone ACA necklace
1.5 tcw Whiteflash diamond bangle
3.0 tcw AVC in custom setting from BGD
Wedding ring with 3.23 spinel
ACAs.jpg rings.jpg

Beautiful pieces, but in particular I find your moonstone bracelet, emerald, and sapphire rings to be flat out stunning!
Thank you! Love your pieces too, especially the sapphires and spinel. So saturated!

1. A great watch
2. Diamond studs 1-2ctw.
3. A great engagement ring - EC or AVR, 1-2 carat
4. RHR - leaning toward a blue sapphire. Or could be another fab diamond to switch with above.
5. Icy jade bangle

I play this game a lot when I can't sleep except I get 10 pieces

Bluegemz, your emerald ring just blew my mind! Love it.
