An (elongated) AVC three stone ring set in a platinum claw pronged Leon. Middle AVC ~2 carats, sides ~1.00 ctw, D-G color, IF-VS clarity.

I must be really ill. I am coming up on empty. I have a lot, yes.... But usually there is something in the works, and now nothing....

I am more in the mode of giving my jewelry to my DD, and getting excited about her graduating from college.

I'll come up with something, but am kinda over the whole jewelry thing.....

Don't kill me....

i want a five stone ring. I would want about 50 pointers, actually, I want Demelza''s five stone Primak. Too bad I can''t afford it!

Um... a suite of diamonds?

Diamond three prong tennis necklace, graduated starting at 5 pointers in the back and working it''s way up to .60 in the front? A 10 carat three prong diamond bracelet. And 3 ctw studs.

I would upgrade my diamond and get a 2ct H SI1 in a setting with .30 rb sides

I do not wear much jewelery so would not be too panicked...and I would actually buy something for DH. I would get more enjoyment than something for me.

He has always wanted a nice bit of predominantly blue ammolite. We live near where it is mined so there is lots of selection in local jewelers but blue is the rarest to find and is most expensive (greens and reds are more common and lovely too!). He has a coppery toned ammolite pendant a student of his gave him (her father mines it) but he does want blue.

It is my plan to buy him some with lots of blue and set it into a ring or pendant for an anniversary as he had wanted some for his wedding ring but it is just not durable enough for everyday wear...

I don''t want to wait too long though as the mine is predicted to be exhausted in less than 2 decades...maybe for our 5th.

Since the question says 'buy', I supose I would have to pay for it, which rules out 3 carat rubies or neon tourmalines.

With that in mind, I would have Leon replicate my favourite ring: a 1ct asscher diamond, set with step cut, tapered demantoids on the band (although I might get a quote for fine rubies on the band, take a look at the number of digits and go back to demantoids).

That ring is one of my all time favourites!!!!!

In answer to the question, I would have said Erica's Asscher, because it was reasonably within the realm of affordability giving the size of the thing, but if we're dreaming, a 4 ct. EC with step cut trap sides. I tried one on in Hawaii and I was sold. So classic and timeless.

If we're dreaming, a large emerald cut in the 4 to 6 range. Yes, classic and timeless!

I don't think there's any way a man could wear a large diamond, but if I could buy one thing that's what I would want.

Definately this necklace from VanCleef & Arpels - Its gorgeous.

(and if I ever get bored of it - yeah right - I can break it up and have so many new re-set possibilities for rings, earrings, bracelets

I agree, too hard to pick just the one!

I've been longing for TWO more pieces of jewellery: a 4.5-5ct F-G VS1-VS2 BGD H&A Sig stone set in a micropave setting and a 6-7ct F-G VVS1-2 EC Cartier or HW.

Phoenix,
Is the avatar pic of your ring tray? You MUST blow it up as big as possible and post a new thread on your 'bling tray'.
Ha ha, I guess I've been cheating!

That is actually an old pic. I don't have some of the items in that tray anymore - having sold or given away several items in my bling closet. In fact, I've gone quite lean - I now have less items in my collection but my intention is to have fewer yet more substantial pieces, since I realised that so many of my smaller pieces were just lying around and not worn most of the time. I thought I'd rather pull them together and put the money into pieces that I can and will actually wear forever...well, at least for a long long time, lol. I don't know when I'll be able to finalise my bling final target. I've been on a quest to sell my various seldom-worn pieces to fund my larger fewer pieces (in fact, my new upgrade has been primarily funded from the sale proceeds of some of my old bling).

Your post has given me an idea: I should start a new thread, something like Phoenix's new bling collection vs. old collection. I'm not done yet with my upgrade process though. I've kind of started my next stage (after having upgraded my 3-stone ring) and am working on an upgrade for my 3ct stone, though I don't know when this will be finalised. I'm still in the process of selling more of my old pieces, so we shall see.....

(You can actually see my old bling collection if you do a search using my name. If you have no luck, let me know and I'll see if I can dig them up).

Sorry about the thread-jack, though I have to say that if it were to boil down to just ONE more piece of jewellery, then it'd HAVE to be the upgraded diamond from my 3ct. So yeah, definitely a 4.50-5ct BGD H&A Sign stone.

I don''t think there''s any way a man could wear a large diamond, but if I could buy one thing that''s what I would want.

Get two and have cufflinks ;) Or keep the one for a tie tack. Maybe set it e/w in a setting of one ounce of solid metal.

***

If I could only have one more it would be a ring that has diamonds that I could wear anywhere. I love my diamond but not having it here/being able to wear it really sucks. I want an eternity ring that isn''t just a tight circle of diamonds - I mean don''t get me wrong, I would love one like that in addition to everything else, but I am planning to get a ring that can serve as a stand alone wedding band and it has to have something a bit more interesting than just diamonds, but it has to have a lot of diamonds too - the biggest I can fit!! lol

A 3-4ct velvety kashmir sapphire cushion with trap sidestones. Mmm..blue....

My list was long before I found Pricescope and it grows longer all the time.

If I had to buy only one more thing I think it would be a 4 or 5 carat diamond bracelet.

chunky pear eternity ring in rose gold bezels with padparadascha instead of the cognac diamond melee OR custom diamond and filigree hoops.
