I leave tomorrow to interview for my dream job, and I would really appreciate any and all dust you have to spare!
I am interviewing for a university faculty position and the interview itself is a quite tedious 3-day interview. I have to meet with faculty members, administrators, and students and give several presentations/demonstrations. I spent almost every moment since I was offered the interview preparing for it, but I am very afraid that I will get fatigued (especially because I am going from EST to PST), or, worse, that I will do something to completely blow it.
Due to the market this year (over 700 PhDs in my field competing for around 100 jobs), I am incredibly grateful to even have an interview. While I try to just focus on how lucky I am to have the interview, I cannot help but still really, really hope I make a strong enough impression to get an offer. The school is great. The faculty are awesome. The location is amazing--which is particularly nice since, in my profession, people generally have no very little agency about where they end up. Any extra help or support I could have going into the interview would certainly help! Thank you all!
