Wedding I want to engrave a romantic message in Fiances band

My band will be to thin, but his won''t and I was wondering about the amount of letter I will be able to work with if its an average size.

My 2mm, size 7 engagement ring has 19 characters.

His size 8 ring has 41 characters and his size 8.5 ring has 42 characters.

Each jeweler has differant ways of engraving your ring(by hand or machine)so each store or company will offer a differant number of letters before hitting a limit ...remember that spaces count in the number...many keep it under 30 letters to fit in most 3mm plus size rings.Machine engraving is alot less expensive then by hand....time wise...while you wait in a few stores(machine)to a few weeks(by hand ).
