Well, the economy is NOT affecting everyone to the same degree! I agree that Oprah likely has some phenomenal employees and treating them well, will ensure they stick around! On the other hand,
I''m sure there are many people out there that would love the chance to land a job with a company such as Harpo.
I know my husband treats his employees well, (takes them for dinner after work, gives them gift cards, tickets to events such as NHL games, golf courses..etc) as a thank you for all their hard work, on top of cash bonuses. Those that work hard are well rewarded. I think it motivates them to give 110% , and in turn keeps his company in high demand, which is crucial in times like this. There are HUGE companies laying off, and going on strike in our community, so it''s great to see smaller companies, with great staff, still thriving!!
