So to celebrate the 30th anniversary of our first date my husband got tickets for Rod Stewart/Stevie Nicks at Madison Square Garden for last nite. I am so not a Stevie Nicks fan but if Rod is just going to sing the phone book I'm there, so off we went.
Stevie is still in her hippie dippie trippie sixties personna and she just annoys. Always has, always will. The only relic from the 60s/early70s I want to see is Jim Morrison and he's no longer around. She did a fair amount of Fleetwood Mac which was OK, and she did some of her new music. Not a fan.
Then came the man himself. For a man in his mid 60s he looked good, but his voice sounded husky and he seemed to have a bit of trouble hitting a few notes. Did I care? Not in the least. He did about an hour and a half and covered all hit hits. Had a lot of energy. Came back for one measly encore. We had seats on the floor that were pretty good, I was dancing thru most of the show. The crowd was in a great mood and everybody seemed to have a wonderful time.
