Everytime, without fail! Whenever I get sick, I get him sick too. He rarely gets me sick, however. Does this happen to other people? How do you keep from getting each other sick?

i pick up every upper respiratory tract infection on the planet. if tim (husband) has talked to someone on the PHONE with a cold, i''ll catch it from him! (slight exaggeration, but you get my point)

he, on the other hand, has the constitution of an ox and we could french kiss all day (so to speak) if i had the flu and...nuthin''.

it''s unreal.

i''m pleased about it tho; last thing you want to do when you feel lousy is nurse someone else.

all that said, tho - when he does finally go under with something, he goes down hard. in the 25 yrs we''ve been married i''ve seen him with the flu twice. worst 2 cases i''ve ever seen.

I sleep in the spare bedroom until I get better otherwise I keep DH and the dog up all night! And I sleep in the other bedroom when he is sick, because he is such a baby when he is sick and will moan and groan all night.

Well, 14 years of just about no medicine made him pretty much impervious to most random illnesses. He is rarely sick for longer than 12 hours. If he hits 48 hours, it''s serious. But the instant he passes somebody in the hallway with a sniffle, I''m sick.

You know what''s funny is that we NEVER catch each others'' viruses. It''s never happened in 5.5 years of being together and 3 years of living together - too weird!

Back when I lived with my family, we passed everything between us. It''s just normal, impossible to avoid really, unless you don''t live together and simply don''t see each other while you''re contagious.

This is interesting. When my family is sick, I rarely catch it. And my sister gets some horrible colds and I NEVER get them. I think I''ve picked up a thing or two from my roomie, and I SWEAR my dog has gotten me sick before. But I ALWAYS take out SO with colds. Guess I am his Kryptonite!

If I have a cold, my husband won''t get it, I guess mostly because when I''m sick, I try very hard to stay away from him and I won''t kiss him at all (because he makes a LOUSEY patient when he''s sick and I don''t want to be the cause of that!). On the other hand, I catch every cold, chest flu and stomach virus he gets because when he''s sick? he needs constant attention, constant hugs and reassurance, and doesn''t stop kissing me.

I was put on WAAAAY too much medication for every little sniffle growing up--- in my humble opinion anyway. I have NO IMMUNE system anymore and catch mostly everything. My fiancee''s parents would barely take him to the doctor even when he had a horrible case of pneumonia. He hardly EVER catches a thing.
