My DH and I are huge fans, too! We miss his show that was on fx, especially the first couple of seasons. Wacky, weird and sometimes very poignant. His opening was great on SNL and classis Louis C.K.
 
He seems to just say what many think, but would NEVER say.
 
He's a pretty unique comic and I love when he says something really out there on the edge and then laughs at it himself.. I don't always think it works when comics laugh at their own jokes, but with him it just seems to make the whole thing even funnier. He seems really able to get at the absurdity of life.
 
I love him. He is so funny and yes he says these things that sometimes make you cringe but he still manages to make you laugh.

Lots of his material is cutting edge, or worse ...
Overall (if you watch him enough) you'll understand he's a feminist, not racist, not anti-children ....... but his style is to shock and he'll often say over the top offensive things for a laugh.
I would understand some being offended if they just reacted to certain isolated things he says.

IMO, he's actually a powerful force for social progress, as have been many cutting edge comics.
I think his IQ is way way up there.
LCK has a mind that can step out of the box, much like George Carlin did.
 
Kenny, check out the Louis C.K. episode of Marc Maron's WTF podcast. I think it might even be up on YouTube. I love how he views the world, but the personal observations about his time in therapy and his daughter being born had me sobbing.

Thank you for sharing the video Kenny. My dh and I just watched it (because I told him if Kenny shared it I know it is funny) and LOL we were laughing till we were crying and now definitely going to check his show out. Thank you for putting it on our radar!
 
I think he's funny; however, I can't get past the numerous allegations of sexual assault/harrassment against him. I just watched the latest Netflix offering and it was pretty good, but I still feel icky watching him and wondering if he actually did the things of which he's accused. Talk of his possible high IQ on this thread makes me also wonder if he thinks he is smarter than he actually is, and therefore able to get away with terrible behavior. Most predators are confident they'll never be found out. I'm not posting links to the articles that have covered this because people can Google it for themselves, and I also don't want to perpetuate anything if it ISN'T true.

Thanks for the heads up, but to hear/see it (I even know whether 'podcasts' are videos or audios) you have to join/register/pay.
I never had an iPod, so I never tried to get a podcast.

I love Louis CK. Maybe even especially more since I will soon be divorced, and have two kids strikingly similar to his younger kids, so I love his parenting observations. I also had not heard about harassment, etc allegations about him, until this thread.
ETA, I looked up allegations, and, I don't know. I would need more to go on. One woman in particular that it was supposed to be about him, stated she couldn't talk about it because it would destroy her career, and it is messed up because they are friends and he is married. But, Louie CK has been divorced since 2008? and the podcast was in 2015? Am I missing something?

I think maybe because I spent a fair deal of my teens and adulthood in therapy, and I actually liked his take on what he got out of it. But that's my perspective, and I like listening to interviews. You might enjoy him more when he's doing standup.
