FYI There's a huge difference between leaving a group vs. changing one's name so a person can SPY!

Not accusing anyone of anything of course. I guess I've watched/read too many movies about undercover activities.

I changed my name on that FB account as another level of information removal, not to spy.
I left that group and could not get back in unless allowed back in, which is a very visible event.

Besides after 6 years it should be clear that I don't worry what people think of me.

Still, it remains a mystery to me as to why this thread was started and that if you don't care what people think, why you still wanted to be sure to let those "friends" know you still like them even after leaving FB.

I did not want those 43 FB "friends" to think I do not like them and that's the reason I "unfriended" them.
(This is totally stupid I know - but read my first few posts on this thread about that topic.)
Also a thread about the ills of FB and the ills of choking on today's ubiquitous advertising is quiet legit.

A thread about those two things being why I left FB may be interesting to people.
I have broken no PS rules.
We cannot post links to FB and I have not done that.

I just recently signed up for FB because there are all sorts of "contests" to win free stuff for weddings that require you to "friend" or "like" something on FB.... so.... well... now I've got an account. I'm not exactly happy to but free wedding stuff would be a huge help (plus I only provided the bare minimum (no address, no phone, no work, etc) to set up the account and have VERY tight security settings).

Where does he say he left a PS group? I don't see that anywhere...as far as I can tell, he said he was leaving FB. Was friends with some vendors and didn't like it.

If other people hadn't jumped in and said how it was against PS rules to talk about a PS group, I don't think I would have known it even existed!

Sorry to say this, but it seems to me that you like to stir up controversy, create some steam and love to be the center of attention - but mostly in a negative way which is not enjoyable to read.
