Wedding I bought my dress!!

Hi Everyone!!

I have mostly lurked on this forum, but I have so enjoyed reading everyone''s stories about their weddings and wedding planning. I just wanted to share some pics of my dress! I am so so excited. I bought it on Friday, and I am DYEING to share it with someone (since I cannot show it to FI)!

It is from Monique Lhuillier, and is a modification of her Geisha dress.

(Also, please be kind with any comments about the fit...I was actually wearing two dresses in these photos so that I could get an idea of what my dress would look like with extra crinoline added underneath.)

I think the dressi is fine as it is but buttons would also look very nice down the back. You really do have a very pretty figure.

Gorgeous. I like the idea of the buttons all the way down the back, but it looks wonderful just as is also. I like what it will look like with the extra crinolines also!

Taovandel - Thank you so much for the nice comments! I was definitely pinned VERY tightly into both dresses!

Sha - Thanks for your comments on the veil. I am actually having them shorten it slightly (by about 6"). I wanted to have something that would lay on the floor behind my dress as I walked (to show the lace pattern), but the one in the store was a little too long. Thanks for your comments on the buttons. I wish I could make up my mind!

Guilty Pleasure - I agree with you completely. I am actually thinking about only adding enough buttons to cover the zipper...somehow, I think it may help the dress look more "finished." Thanks for your comments!

StarbuttsKoffee - I''m not sure about the corset - although I was definitely wishing for a pair of spanx while trying on some of the dresses. They honestly pin you in so tightly that I don''t know if you would need one. I do know that they like you to wear a strapless bra (however, most salons have one available if you forget.)

miraclesrule - You are SO sweet! Thank you so much for your kind comments. By the way, I never responded in your other threads about your daughter''s wedding, but she is STUNNING. I will be super psyched if I look half has beautiful on my wedding day!

Oh, and the bottom of the dress is actually a row of the exact same lace that is on the bodice of the dress and on the veil. Also, the lace on the bottom is supposed to be the same color as the dress, but the sample I tried on was filthy ("well loved", as I like to say.)

trinity911 - Yep, I bought the veil from Monique as well. However, I think she has a partnership with a veil manufacturer (Federici I want to say? I can''t remember exactly what was written on the tag.) However, the sales associate told me that the veil uses the exact same lace as what is used on my dress...worked for me! Thanks so much for your comments!

You look stunning! When that dress is done and you are only wearing one layer of clothes, spectators will just pass out from the gorgeousness. I agree on the buttons, leave it as is.
