YAY for dresses with straps! It''s nice to see brides who do something a little different and who find something figure flattering despite the trends. I love the straps, and I loooooove the way it falls in the back. And no alterations? FANTASTIC!
OMG you guys have me tearing up in the school computer lab! Thanks so much for all the kind words. If ladies such as yourselves love the dress as much as I do then it surely is a winner.
gwendolyn- Gorgeous? Oh stop, i''m blushing. Thanks for the ego boost!
tberube, facetfire, purrfectpear, SarahLovesJS, KinberlyH- thanks! I am in love
sunnyd- thanks, the straps were a major selling point cause I had always wanted a Belle dress and needed some sort of sparklie straps to seal the mental picture!
bensbride- I have been to David''s three times now, once with a friend and twice for me and I have had nothing but wonderful experiences. However I did go to the one in Greenville, SC. If I had gone home to the ATL then my experience could have been vastly different! And yes, it is an ivery dress with embroidery in ivory and champagne. LOVE the combo!
pjean- yeah the straps make me drool a bit too, perhaps I should stick a hankie in my cleavage to mop it up on the wedding day!
hopefulheidi- DRESS TWIN!!!!! Yes, I indeed swished the skirt like a bell, complete with ding sound effects. I really love the material too, not your standard satin. HAHA and I''m pretty sure we''re both right on this dress. And of course you have my permission to show the photo, i''m flattered that you think it looks so perfect on me. And that you think they''d have sold more dresses with a picture of me?...
choro72- yep I''m super excited about the twinieness, and thank you
kcoursolle- the waist tininess is one of the main things I loooove about the dress.
Keepingthefaith21- yep, it was destiny that brought us together
Fancy605- Yes, I really like that it''s not the standard strapless, I feel so bare without the straps!
Awwwwww look at you all finding the perfect dress.......Its so awesome to see a former LIW (because I was around when you got engaged) getting ready for her wedding already! How exciting!!! You look absolutely gorgeous in this gown. And how perfect?! No alterations. I love it!!!! YAY!!!
Okay- this is crazy... because I just bought that dress yesterday, too! I went to DB with one of my bridesmaids to look at dresses for them. I wasn''t even planning on looking at bridal gowns, but my friend wanted to look. When I saw this one I just had to try it on- and I loved it! I called my mom and had her come look at it too. We were looking last week at a Paloma Blanca dress that looked a lot like this one and it was $1800. So weird to open up this tread and see you wearing the same dress. I still plan on looking around a little more- since I just starting looking. But since it was a discontinued dress I couldn''t let it go! If I do find something eles I will exchange this and use the money toward BM dresses.
I am also glad to hear peoples'' positive experiences with David''s Bridal. My FI and I will likely be getting our gowns there because it is very much within our unfortunately small budget. If they look as beautiful as yours we''ll be all set!
And there you were worried that you were too heavy to try on dresses... Too heavy my EYE!!! You look fantastic! It''s so perfect and it''s great that you don''t need alterations!
The dress looks beautiful!!! I''m so jealous you bought with straps; it was one of my few conditions when I went dress shopping yet ended up going strapless in the end. You''re going to be a gorgeous bride!
Wow, I can''t believe that so many people have responded! I feel so special.
Harleigh: Thanks so much, the straps are one of my favs!
pocahontas: I''m so glad that you think it''s as flattering as I do.
Dreamgirl: Yay for LIW''s I miss that board, I get sad when I go back and don''t recognize the people there. I haven''t been gone that long!
DiamondSeeker7- Wow, no kidding? That is so crazy. I wasn''t planning on buying either, I was just using David''s as a jumping off point, but I couldn''t pass it up. It was too perfect. And those pics are super close to the dress. Wow
WishfulThinking: Stunning? I''m so flattered. And yes, my experience was so wonderful, all of their dresses are NOT created equal. I tried on some stunners and some really cheap feeling dresses. However, it''s super fun to keep trying them on!
UCLABelle: Thanks!
Addy: I never thought that so many people would love the straps since strapless is such the fad. I''m so psyched!
anchor: Haha, yeah I think David''s had a hand in me being small enough to try on the dresses. I actually ended up in a gown two sizes smaller than I started trying on. Whoops.
CDNinNYC: it''s so funny that you go in thinking that you want one thing and end up falling in love with another huh?
