Sigh

I hate all of you who have posted such faboo engagement photos lately. Ok, so I don''t really hate you but I am incredibly jealous. I would love to have great photos, but:
1. K would HATE it
2. He would be miserable and we''d end up arguing
3. He thinks all the adorable photos I''ve shown him are cheesy
4. The whole thing would end up being a disaster

This post has no point except that I''m feeling very whiney, wistful, jealous and sentimental this evening...

You could always ask your FI what he would feel comfortable doing and work from there. Good luck.

I know how you feel - FI did pics without complaint, but he has been MISERABLE with dancing. . . he agreed to take dancing lessons for our first dance, but didn''t really mean it, apparently and has been sulky and grumpy for most of them. I told him it really hurt mym feelings and he perked up a little bit for our last lesson, but it was a little torturous for the rest of them. Find out what FI would suggest - maybe he just wants a different style of pic or something?

Maybe he''s uncomfortable "posing" with a photographer....basically a stranger - I can relate as I had lots of anxiety before our engagement pics - I''m weird, what can I say? ha!

Do you think he''d be ok with a friend taking a few snapshots? Do you have any friends who love photography - maybe do it as a hobby? It would possibly be a much more relaxing time for him if it were around a friend - and the photos didn''t have such a great importance as they sometimes do with a photographer - the comfort level changes...

This way, you could get some photos of the two of you - they might not be professional - but still - they would be framable and memorable

this is what i was going to suggest! ask him what he thinks "not cheesy" looks like and go from there

he might surprise you! you might not get the e-pics of your dreams, but at least you''d have them!

My MIL took ours b/c it was something I didn''t want to spend money on and they turned out great. Plus DH listened more when he complained something was cheesy and his mom reassured him it was cute.

Thanks for all the replies.

I actually thought about it quite a bit today and finally decided to bring it up and ask him to at least consider the idea. I found a local photographer who is a friend of a friend. She offered to do the photos for a $100 fee, then we''d pay $5/photo for digital versions. That seemed very reasonable. If K agrees to it I''ll probably speak with the photographer ahead of time and warn her that he can be a bit disagreeable...

As an example, this is probably my favorite photo of the two of us and he absolutely hates it and was a real bear during the 10 minutes we were getting photos taken. This was on a cruise ship, so it wasn''t even a full shoot. If he agrees to do this maybe I should give him a beer or two before we start to help him relax!!!
