JD made this bed for Trapper a few months ago, and I took pictures intending to post them on here, but we''ve been having problems getting the pictures from the camera to the computer. Got it fixed today.

Hope the pictures work and aren''t too small. The first one was out in the shed/shop, so ignore the mess please!

In Trapper''s room. Haven''t changed the walls to a big boy''s room yet, so it''s still done as a nursery. The bed is soooo tall. Taller than ours even. When I asked him "Did you measure everything?" I think JD just thought I was being a smart ass..so we had to make a step stool for Trapper to use. Hell, I use it too! And, the bed wouldn''t fit into the room..so after a lot of colorful words and slamming of doors and such..he ended up having to cut it in half and then put it back together in the room. He''s making one for us and one for our daughter this winter..I think we''ll be doing a little better measuring this time hahahaha!

And this shows one of the 2 doors on the front. Nice to have extra storage in this small house! We like the bed a lot, and so does Trapper!

I''m having trouble telling from the pic, but are those antlers on the bed....?

haha yep, antlers as the door handles for the underbed storage! JD''s a big hunter.

That is sooo awesome!! I wish my FI would be able to make us a custom bed...so jealous!!

nice job, Mr Packrat!

and lucky trapper :)

love the tone to the wood - all that natural molasses color..... delicious! :)

wow your husband certainly is handy, the bed looks great, my only concern is the antlers, i would hurt myself on those

Thanks guys!

Whitby-he burned the wood w/a propane torch and then varnished it. It''s thick oak planks.

Faye, that''s why he put the points facing downwards. I''m not exactly known for my grace and agility, and I''d gore myself on them otherwise. Well, and for Trapper''s safety too of course, hahaha!

Will make him very happy people like it. He''s like "So, um..you gonna put pictures of the bed on your jewelry site? Maybe they''d like to see it" hehehe He''s awfully proud!

Cute and way cool!

I think that looks awesome! And now I have decided to force my husband to make me some furniture for the baby''s room. I love the way he treated the wood, the torch was a brilliant idea to "stain" the wood. Tell your DH - Good Job!
