how can I get rid of it. I tried everything and I cannot delete. Any computer savt people out there who can help! I am desperate. Thanks!

tried these and it did not work!

Start Windows in Safe Mode and perform a scan with antivir (free antivirus).

Once you''ve removed it, don''t use Internet Explorer to browse but give Firefox a try.
SpywareBlaster is a nice tool to block bad web pages.
Spybot can help you remove malware.
CCleaner helps you keep your computer clean (useless files, registry entries, ...)
Do you use a firewall, antivirus?
ZoneAlarm is a good firewall.
Antivir and AVG free are good antivirus.
All utilities I''ve mentioned are free...

We did that as well. It says its removed and then after we reboot it is there again. We even scanned our external drives.

I''ll let DH know about Firefox

We used SpyBot and that is what keeps finding it. McAfee picked it up the first time, but was unable to quarantine it. That''s when we used SpyBot. We use RegCure to clean the registry files. Our McAfee firewall is enabled.

This is just so frustrating! I can''t imagine where we could have picked this up.

Stephan, thanks for your help. This is just so frustrating because yesterday we got a call from our credit card company for a fraud concern. (I posted about this in HO). So now I don''t know if this trojan allowed someone to get info from my computer and what info that is. I am just so upset right now!

Yes, that''s probably what happened.
Did you start your computer in Safe Mode? Only then you''ll be able to remove the trojan.
I have to go now, but I''ll check when I''m back home.
Good luck!

Your best bet is to wipe it and reinstall if you have fraud concerns already.

malwarebytes ran in safe mode.
Nice tool Karl.
I didn''t know it.
The scan was fast.
Fortunately, it didn''t find anything.

For now it is my go to first tool.
I change fairly often which one I will use first as they leapfrog each other often.
For a while housecall was on top, before that it was spybot search and destroy and before that it was adaware. Now adaware is pretty much junk, spybot is still good as is housecall but malwarebytes beats them.
Right now malwarebytes is on top in my opinion for tough infections.

I never had any infection on my 7 year old computer.
AdAware was cool before, but now it is much too heavy.
I''ll keep Malwarebytes, thank you Karl!

Karl and Stephan! Malwarebytes seems to have worked!!! I ran a check again this morning and nothing came up.

I am so grateful for all your help... I love you guys.... now waiting for the Fedex guy to ring my doorbell this morning.

Things are looking up.

I hope that the people who charged your credit card go to jail.
