told the parents and siblings as soon as we found out (i couldn''t keep it from them especially that we saw them almost every other day!)..
told my best friend at 6 weeks and the rest after i finished my 1st trimester (including the in-laws coz we knew they couldnt keep a secret!! he he he)
If I ever get pregnant, I''m going order one of these shirts and wait until my parents and MIL realize what it says. I''m sure it wouldn''t take but a few seconds, but I think it would be fun.
We delayed longer than most people do. I am 36 and we were concerned about a first trimester miscarriage and also about Downs or other genetic disorders, so we wanted to wait until after the amnio. My parents are in their 70''s and have wanted a grandchild for a long time, also my mother has a heart condition, so I didn''t want to get their hopes up only to tell them we lost the baby. DH probably would have told his family sooner, but we decided we could not tell one family and not tell the other.
I was 7 1/2 weeks when we found out. I told my closest friend immediately because we were planning a trip together. I told the head of my dept. and the head of the firm around 12 weeks because I was missing work for a lot of Dr. appointments and I didn''t want them to wonder why my hours were low, but I asked them not to tell anyone else at work. Everyone else found out after 18 weeks when we got good amnio results.
We talk about this too (for the future). Ideally I would like to tell our parents and best friends pretty early but my mother CANNOT KEEP A SECRET so I don't know. I think it would be hard to keep it to myself for 12 weeks, but I would not want my mom to tell the whole world before I was ready.
