Does anyone know of a site that''s great for dummies when it comes to creating a webpage? I''d really love to create one for family so they can see photos of our baby (and also somewhere to put wedding photos as well). Kind of like a family page I suppose with great graphics (akin to wedding websites?).

I''m not too tech savvy though...

homestead.com is a great beginners site, they have already template for you to create there, and you can also get really creative. Tutorial for you too, but it does cost money to have your own website and hosting with them.

otherwise you can do it on https://www.blogger.com/start for free (my friends use this to host their pictures and their family blogs)

thanks, I''ll check out both D&T. I guess hosting for a small fee wouldn''t be that bad. I assume both options allow for privacy settings--I wouldn''t really want anyone accessing any of it except close family.

your welcome, I know that I''ve done a few websites with Homestead and they did have an option for privacy and you had to create a password or so. Its been a few years since so I''m not sure if anything has changed, it was very minimal cost I thought like around $5-$10 a month or so for five pages, (any length) Have fun, I loved going through Homestead.

You can create a share site on Shutterfly for free.

I really like (google''s) blogger (https://www.blogger.com/start) for my blog but there aren''t any privacy settings (that I know of). But that''s OK for me.

I know that Smugmug (www.smugmug.com) offers various privacy settings. I don''t use it, but my techhie niece loves it.

Or you could do a wiki (www.wikispaces.com) and allow various other family members to add to it. That could be really fun!

I like Photobucket, but it doesn''t really have templates -- only some different backgrounds you can choose from. There''s a free, limited version and a "pro" paid version, I''ve only ever used the free one and it works for me. I have a password on mine, too.
