As I posted before, on Sunday, I bought us a pair of scooters.

I bought them from a big cycle center here in IL that has a good reputation, so I felt comfortable buying them from there because of the reputation. Unfortunately, I've had nothing but a big headache since then!

We had the scooters delivered, and mine wouldn't start. Although, a meer two hours before we'd seen the mechanics testing them--so I do know at point mine worked. The guy who dropped them off was flustered and confused and offered to take mine immediately back--which I insisted on, since it was brand new with only 4 miles on it!! At the time he told us the scooter would be a priority Monday morning and we'd get it back immediately.

But, at this point, they still haven't lived up to those promises!

Monday, my scooter wasn't even looked at it. Tuesday they claimed to have gotten to it around 1p but by 7p at night still hadn't been able to concretely identify the problem--only that it wasn't starting. They said they would call first thing Wednesday morning--but didn't.

I'm frustered because the scooter was a lot of money and it doesn't work...but also because they can't seem to fix it, and aren't at least contacting me with information. Now, I don't expect a step-by-step update...but some communication would be nice.

So...what should I do? I feel like I'm owed something--and explaination, an update call...something. But they are very rude when I called (yesterday) like I'm annoying them with my concern which is only adding to my displeasure.

Is it too late to cancel the transaction? Isn''t there a time period you have to return a vehicle you purchased?

Did you pay cash? I would ''return'' it if possible. Who wants a scooter with only 4 miles on it that already is having problems?

I''d be majorly ticked....Is going there in person an option?

I also agree that if it''s possible to return this particular scooter (or trade for a new one) that''s what I''d do. If it''s already having strange problems it might be a lemon. I might even consider buying from another dealer if that is an option since this one doesn''t seem to value their customers.

Good luck!

I would definitely insist on getting a brand new replacement for this scooter. I smell a lemon!

Sorry you''re dealing with this, I''m sure it''s a bummer to get all excited for the new scooters only to have one not work. Here''s hoping you two will be scooting around soon!

Refund or exchange, immediately. Unacceptable.

I think the problem is there isn''t anyone at a big cycle center to service scooters. The mechanics are probably not familiar with it since scooters are a rather new addition to the motorcycle family. Chances are it''s a low battery or something very simple since it was running hours before they brought it over.

Have you spoken to the owner of the store? If they can''t service what the sell you may have a continuing problem with regular maintenance as well as this problem. Refund! might get them thinking clearly.

Thanks everyone!

After not hearing from the center, I called. Apparently it was a wire that wasn''t 100% connected...although, why did it ride intially? Anyway, I have a great warranty of it...and they wouldn''t change it out at this time because it''s been one problem--not enough to call it a lemon.

So..for here...we''ll see...

Glad it was something simple. It probably got jostled while being delivered. Have fun!!!

do you have a lemon law in your state? At this point I would want my money back or a new scooter. I wouldn''t accept a brand new scooter that isn''t working. Not acceptable
