How often do you feed your pets?

I feed our bunny twice a day (7am and 7pm) so that it spreads out his eating. I just give him half of his daily amount each time; he eats a bit less than half a cup of pellets a day. I also fill up his veggie bowl in the morning. If he has some left in the evening I leave it, but if he's eaten all of it I'll give him a bit more.

Zoe, have you tried splitting up her regular portion of food into multiple feedings? That way she thinks she's being fed more, but you're still giving her the same amount. That's what I would do.

I feed my BETA twice a day - 5 little pellets each. He dances for me before I drop them in the water. He''s so majestic :)

Cat gets fed whenever the bowl is empty, but I don't have any weight problems with him, so I'm no help.

Dog gets fed once a day, in the evening.
Same. Whenever I walk by the food bowls, if they're nearly empty, I fill them up again.

With my fish, I'm still figuring out that one. Currently just giving him a tiny bit of food at around 7 pm.

I''ve been feeding my mini schnauzer twice a day now (3/4 cups total) ever since he started throwing up his feed a couple of hours after eating. The vet thought that his stomach was too full and better to let the first meal empty and then give him the rest. So since I feed him first thing in the morning (7 am), he gets his second portion around 1 pm and then biscuits in the evening so his tummy is not too empty at night.

Thanks Tlh! I know giving in is not a good choice and we haven''t yet. It''s just so hard because she''s sitting here next to the computer and crying constantly. I could lock her out of the room but the crying won''t stop. We''ve tried that before.
I''ve done that too... she''ll claw under the door. We just ignore her. She gets fed between 8-9pm. We try not to feed her like clockwork, in hopes to keep her quiet. I''ve actually trained one of our dogs to chase her when she cries... so she''ll just lay against the door and be quiet until we''re ready to feed her. That works about 70% of the time.

Trust me, it is HARD. I''d rather just let her open feed, but she eats out of boredom, and lacks self control. Mainly because she used to be an outdoor cat... and now there is nothing to do. But it is better for her to be a little thinner. Trust me, I look forward to the time when she''s not "overweight" any more, and I can increase her food to non-diet portions.

I wish you the best!

Twice a day. Usually 9am and 7pm...it varies...they usually let us know when they are hungry. And we mix dry and wet food together so I try to wait until I know they will eat so it''s fresh.
