How Much Should I Tip for Newspaper Delivery?

I get the New York Times every Sunday. Last week's paper came with a photocopied holiday "card" and the delivery person's home address.

Do you tip at the holidays for newspaper delivery? If so, how much?

I have been somewhat unhappy with the delivery, since this person never double-bags my paper when it's raining, so my paper is always destroyed on rainy days. Maybe I'll get the double-bagged paper if I tip this year?

Put a $10 in a card. Write "Happy holidays to you and your family. Please double bag my newspaper on rainy days. Thank you".

I'm not sure once a week is worth more than that.

I'd give him 20 and double bag the tip!

Good suggestions both above!

Our delivery is good -- better since I made sure to remember to tip. I give him $20, but we're not in NYC. For what you get, $10 sounds ok, with iLander's suggestion. (VL's too. :naughty: )

I get the paper delivered every day and give $20. {Metro NY/NJ area}.

Ha, I love it!

$20 sounds reasonable, I'll send that.

Thanks so much, everyone! Here's hoping my papers start getting double-bagged!
