How long have all of you LIW been with your significant other? My boyfriend and have been together for 2 1/2 on April 22nd.

Thanks! I''m so excited! It''s been so hard to wait, knowing that he has the ring already. He jokingly calls me his pre-fiancee. I''m ready to lose the "pre"

We have been together 8 1/2 years. We met the summer after senior year of high school. We are now 26 and 27. I didn''t have engagement fever until about 10 or 11 months ago. Those 10-11 months have been torture!!

It was 3 years last month, though the first "hey we should start planning to get engaged and throwing around wedding/marriage details and ideas" conversation came at around the 2.5 year point. Considering there''s a pretty good chance he won''t propose until next summer (4.5 year mark) that''d be we''d have spent almost half of our relationship in the pre-engagement stage

I don''t think that''s unusual at all... our first plans for wedding/engagement came in at a little less than 1.5 years, so that was just over half of our pre-engagement relationship

it all blends together in the end, it doesn''t matter what talks/rings/documents come at what point!

I don''t think there''ll be a proposal or a ring, though

We just bought a house (yay!), and since we have to save for a wedding, the ring will just have to wait.
