How "late" were you before you took a home pregnancy test or made an appointment to see your OB/GYN?
 
5 days after I conceived...I guess I was 2 days late? I just "knew."

I didn''t take the HPT until I was 10 days late.
Making the initial appt to see your OB-GYN usually varies from practice to practice.
I had to go into their lab and take their pregnancy test to confirm that I am indeed pregnant.
Then they scheduled me for a prenatal class headed by a nurse.
(they call it a class because there were a whole bunch of us who got a BFP on the test).
It was an hour long class where they basically give us our pregnancy handbook and order a whole bunch of bloodwork.
Then the scheduled our first appt with the OB-GYN and this appt is usually scheduled for when we are 10-13 wks along.
 
My period usually come around every 28 days. Today is day 33 and nothing yet....not even a cramp! And I ALWAYS have cramps
 
Class n Sass, I''ve never been pregnant, but I''m TTC. If you''re truly late (meaning you ovulated when you normally do) you should be able to get a positive on a HPT at this point. It''s quite possible that you''ve just ovulated later than normal though which would mean that you''re not really late. Your period comes the same set number of days after you ovulate (give or take a day) each cycle. The number of days varies from woman to woman, but not cycle to cycle for each woman. Lots of things can cause you to ovulate late. If you ovulate 5 days later than normal, your period will come 5 days later than normal as well.
 
I was 3 days late when I took a HPT and got a positive. I would take a HPT. It should be accurate at 5 days late.
 
First response early results are supposed to be pretty sensitive.
 
I think a part of me is nevous to take it because if it comes back negative I will be dissapointed. I think I wanna wait maybe two more days just in case I do get a visit from Aunt Flo

Do you know when you ovulated? I took a test at 17 DPO because I was scared to get a false negative if I tested too early. Have you looked at this website? Pee On A Stick It has lots of good info. Good luck!

Since you are late a test should be pretty accurate. My doctor had me come in right away. I found out when I was 3.5 weeks along.
 
I found out I was pg on Saturday and confirmed it with a digital on Sunday. My period isn't due till Wednesday so I wasn't late at all.

I was charting and started testing 8 days after ovulation - got the positive on day 11. If you ovulated on the 19th then your LP would be 20 days now which is VERY long.

Are you feeling exhausted all the time and sore bbs?

ETA: I got a + on a digi and a FRER despite my 10 miu ICs being really faint. Get that digi and get peeing!

I wish I had your willpower - disappointed or not, I HAD to test from 8DPO - I'd have started testing earlier than that if the pack of OPKs hadn't arrived and I had them to play with!

A HPT would DEFINITELY be positive at this point if that O date is correct unless you''re one of the very few women who don''t test positive on a HPT. You''re 21dpo at this point. Have you been charting temps? 18 temps above the coverline is supposed to confirm pregnancy as well.

That would put you around 20 DPO so I''d definitely take a HPT. It should be accurate.

If you are charting and your ovulation day was correct, then you are probably preggo! Luteal phases (days after ovulation until period) longer than 18 days almost always mean you are pregnant.
 
I am not feeling especially tired but my nipples are extremely tender. They usually are before my period but they have been this way for over a week now.

prehistoric I'm sure, it was two lines. Loving how they have evolved, so smart!! Plus the knowledge you all have is just amazing to me, didn't have that back then. I did the ovulation testing kits, but now it's a whole science!! That's great. And there was no internet, so no pee on a stick websites, hehe.
My OB/GYN took me for my first appointment at 10 weeks?

Kaleigh, not prehistoric. Hehe. I took the good old fashion two line test. I just didn''t have the urge to take a digital test but it is amazing how far they''ve come. It''s so detailed now and can tell you approximately how far along you are.

My close friend felt this way. She wanted to be pregnant so badly that she didn''t want to be disappointed by a negative test so she kept waiting... she was puking every morning when she finally tested and by then she was already 11 weeks! LOL!!

I know what you mean.
That''s one of the reason I waited until I was a good week late before testing.
I didn''t have any real symptoms except an insatiable appetite.
 
i tested when i was 2 days late..im usually NEVER late...

i would take a test...=D...

So I just took a test ladies.....and its POSITIVE!!! I am officially preggers! What an amazing feeling...totally indescribable! Now I am trying to think of a way to tell my hubby when he gets home this evening...any quick suggestions??? I don''t have long to figure it out...he''ll be home in about 2 hours or so.
 
CONGRATULATIONS!

As for telling hubby...what about running to Target and getting one of those "I <3 my daddy" onesies and telling him you got him a present? Or there''s always just telling him...I guess it''d be kind of like hearing him propose. Just something amazing to actually hear!
