Here''s the thing. My family in NY (dad''s family) will all RSVP that they are coming. But I know that they won''t show. I fully intend to follow up with them 2 to 3 weeks in advance as the venue requires a final count 4 days before the wedding.

Again, I already know that 3 weeks before the wedding they''ll start with their excuses. So my question is this: would it be super tacky for me to then send invites out to locals 3 weeks before? (Feel free to be honest, it won''t hurt my feelings

Our guest list is at 118. We would like to have a max of 75 guests. We split the list into three groups:

A-Family (79 total)
B-Friends (25)
C-Coworkers and some friends (14)

Of the 79 family members, I know that only 45 will show for sure.

So my question is this, should I send invites out to the B list along with the A list? Or, should I wait to get a final number from the A list (i.e. 3 weeks before wedding) before notifying the B list?

If you have space at your venue invite them all now.

Hi fieryred,

What I might do is actually send out the invitations to the people who you aren''t sure will attend or not about 1 or 1.5 weeks earlier than everyone else. (Not too early since you don''t want the other guests to get wind and feel like they''ve been excluded). You could also send them to the ones you''re pretty sure won''t show, b/c you just never know.

Hopefully that will give you a little head start on at least that group, so that by the time you send out the main batch (the ones you''re pretty sure are coming) or shortly after, you may have already started getting RSVPs from the maybe''s and that might help you determine how much room you have for B-listers.
