Take a nap with a soothing movie on in the background (anything Jane Austen works for me!)
Bubble bath with a good magazine and glass of wine
Meet a friend for coffee and some shopping
Hang out in the park outside my building with a picnic blanket, books, and snacks
Have dinner or drinks at an outdoor restaurant/cafe
Mani/pedis with a friend
Walk somewhere with DH for a treat (gelato or bubble tea)
Go to bed early with a mug of tea and write in my journal
How do you feel the stress? Some people get tense and feel is physically, for that type of stress physical activity is the best because it can release the tension and it creates adrenaline and seratonin that will fight the evil cortisol stress hormone! If you tend to ruminate and your brain won''t shut up, then do something that occupies your mind like reading, watching TV, using PS etc.
My hubby likes to tell me that sex releases stress too... I agree, especially after a couple glasses of red wine!
