If you go on the Martha Stewart website, there''s somewhere under wedding stuff (I found it when I was looking for instructions because I made a ring bearer pillow last night... thank you Martha!) where she gives instructions for tying three different types of bow. Here''s the one I clipped and saved for when we do our invites. I''m not sure it''s the right one for a sash, since she says it''s best for stiff fabric or wired ribbon, but if it doesn''t work, check on her site (maybe do a search for ''bow'' or something?) for the other two types of bows?
KC, whether to wrap once or twice will depend on the length of the streamers (the long part of the bow) you are seeking. Also, I would advice using a bit of light starch on the sash before tying, that way it will hold its bow shape better...you might even press it with light starch first before tying it instead of just spraying it to avoid spots.
