Where did/is everyone going for their honeymoon? I have only 4 months until the wedding day and still no exact honeymoon plans as of yet! We are thinking definitely a Sandals trip with our main destination choice being the Bahamas. The main problem we are having is that our honeymoon is the same time as New Years eve and New Years day and Sandals is TWICE as expensive for those nights and even the nights before and after. So, I hesitate to book just because it irritates me.. however we can't really wait until after NYE due to both of our work schedules. I might just bite the bullet and go ahead and book! I just never planned on spending 8K on a trip to the Bahamas! Has anyone been to an all-inclusive other than Sandals that they would recommend? I would love to hear about other peoples honeymoon plans!

I''ve never been to Sandals, and we went to Hawaii for our honeymoon, but....

We did go on a short vacation this April to Cancun. We stayed at the Sun Palace. It was freaking awesome! The hotel was sooooooooo nice and they offered many of the services that the Four Seasons in Maui did (2x daily maid service, awesome pool/beach service, welcome drinks, etc). 98% of the rooms at The Sun Palace are Oceanfront, it''s adults only and we paid like $300 a night including airfaire (from NJ). I would highly recommend it!

Their website is kinda lacking, but you can look at the traveler photos on Trip Advisor!

Hope that helps!

We had planned on a Sandals trip as well... until after doing much research we found many negative reviews on tripadvisor. I think there was also a PS user (was it CourtneyClub?) who had to cancel her trip when she saw what the rooms really looked like.

We (after a LOT of research) chose Here! It was by far the best vacation I have ever taken. It was so luxurious... I felt like a movie star! The food was top notch, the room was incredilbe... they even have a pillow menu.... yep you get to pick from 5 different type of pillows! Playa Del Carmen was amazing.. we went on one of the coolest excursions ever where we snorkeled in underground fresh water caves!!! Just awesome! We stayed 7 nights, 8 days... cost us 3K (including a day at the spa!) That didn''t include airfare however... I have flying privledges from my Dad being a retired pilot.

It was less expensive than Sandals also. Trip Advisor is a great tool.... good luck!

Has anyone ever been to H10 Ocean Turquesa/Coral. I have a trip booked there in October and I was wondering if there were any reviews. I have looked on Trip Advisor but it is so hard because reviews are always polar opposites of eachother. I don''t mean to thread jack, I was just thinking it might be of some help to you too ljsmith001!!!

Skip the all inclusives. They include everything tacky, drunken, and overcrowded but lack everything local, cultural, and interesting. Consider a nice hotel in Barbados.

Yep that was me, Neveah. ALSO, we just returned from our honeymoon in the Bahamas (stayed at Atlantis for 2 nights then flew to Exuma). During our layover in Nassau, the cab driver took us to Cable Beach and we passed Sandals. It looked REALLY dumpy from the ouside. I was glad we cancelled that one!

Nice! I hope you have a great time! Let me know if you have any questions, but I''d say the reviews and info. on Trip Advisor is really accurate.

P.S. They have YUMMY guacamole and it is in large supply!!

We went to Royal Plantation in Ocho Rios, Jamaica - and it was absolutely incredible! Check out the reviews on tripadvisor! They are all stellar!

It was the most amazing, relaxing, and most pampered time of my life!

There is an all-inclusive plan if you opt for it!

Check it out!

we are going to niagara falls, but only because that is where we live. haha. no honeymoon planned. we have a house that needs to be updated about four decades.

That is an absolutely ridiculous generalization... Have you been to every all inclusive in the world?

Ditto Neveah. I''ve been to a couple of really nice all inclusive resorts. They are perfect for those who are watching their buck. I would''ve gone to one if we didn''t decide to splurge on the other places for our honeymoon. Our next trip will be an all inclusive!

Hey, we''re almost wedding date twins (12-28-08)! We''re planning on honeymooning in Maui...we''re renting a beachside condo in Kapalua. We were thinking of stayin in the hotels but that end up costing a lot more and wasn''t quite as nice.
