I''m planning a Christmas party for all of my friends in December, and i''m looking for ideas to make it a party that they walk away saying "Wow, Lanie put a lot of effort into xyz, and her decorations were so pretty!" Etc.

It will be a tacky Christmas sweater party, so more on the "festive" than elegant side, but i''m open to all ideas! Preferably inexpensive ideas!!!

What ideas have you done in the past to have a fabo holiday party? Any decorations that were simple and inexpensive that looked great?

Inexpensive ideas:
1. If you''re in the US and have a Michaels, use their 40% off coupon every week until Xmas on more expensive items. I''m having a November housewarming party and I bought a bow maker so I could make big bows. They will take a lot of room visually.
2. Go to Dollar stores because they have quite a bit of Xmas inventory
3. Decorate with cranberries in a hurricane
4. Poisettias are nice to put around the house(not if you have cats though).

Scroll through some of the ideas on hostess with the mostess and their blog. They always have the greatest entertaining ideas, and economical, too!

heraanderson -- Thanks for the tips! I forgot about Michael''s (and Hobby Lobby!) coupons!

doodle -- THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU for posting that link! I had never seen that before...some of her ideas are so cute!!!

No problem! I''m addicted to that site--I have to check it every single day, haha! She posted a "Gender Reveal" baby party a few weeks back that already has me plotting for whichever of my friends is next to get pregnant. Glad the link was helpful!

yep, Michael''s does have great stuff with the coupon. One of my favorite decorations is the cinnamon scented pinecones. They are sold for around $5.00 for a bag of them. Super yummy.
