.... and I ended up being let down.
Haven't been around these parts lately but I had a funny little story that I thought my PS buds might enjoy.
A day or two before xmas, I saw on DH's phone that he had an email from BGD. I didn't read the email, just saw the title which was started with something like: "Ticket #535883" (or some other random assortment of numbers). Well, I was instantly excited. Instead of getting each other gifts this year, we're going to take a weekend getaway to Mexico next month, but I thought the sneaky bastard had pulled a fast one on me and bought me something sparkly.
Well, Christmas Eve comes and goes..... no gift. Then Christmas Day...... still no gift. Finally, at around 11:00 that night, I admit that I saw he had an email from BGD and am wondering what the heck is going on. He says "Oh, it was just a 'happy holidays' email." I said, "No way! I purchased our wedding bands from them so I should have received a "happy holidays" email as well!" I still didn't believe him. I'm thinking he was just stringing me along and that there must be some sort of jewelry box hidden somewhere for me. He tells me to log into his client portal area on the BGD website. Yep, sure enough there's a ticket number for the holiday email he received from Jamie. When he purchased my DBTY bracelet this summer, he worked with Jamie while I worked with Lesley on our wedding bands. So it must just be Jamie who sent out these emails to the clients she worked with. Bummer!
I just kept saying "Why would they put a ticket number on a holiday email?!? Why!?!?" Oh man, what a let down. DH said he felt so bad, he was about to call in and place an order just to cheer me up. We're both still laughing about it. Haven't been so anxious waiting for a piece of jewelry since before we were engaged! Good grief. I thought by not reading past the subject line of the email, I wasn't going to ruin a surprise. Well, I still ended up quite surprised. Dang.
