For Christmas last year, I paid for my partner and I to spend 2 weeks in Bali. It was nice, very affordable,...but NOT relaxing. Bali is a very full-on destination and this year, I demand that my holiday has NO STREET HAWKERS.

Seriously, those Kuta vendors are relentless! Thankfully it wasn''t all bad -- we spent a week on Gili Trawangan, which was gorgeous.

I''d like to buy another vacation for Christmas this year. I know we''ve got some world travellers on here, so I figured I''d put out a plea for advice. I''m wanting a very relaxing, decently affordable vacation for the two of us. Travel can occur anywhere from Feb-April or so. I''m on the west coast of Australia, so that affects the affordability of airfare going to many south pacific destinations (though with V Oz flying to Nadi now, Fiji isn''t looking too awfully expensive).

Ideally, I''d like something a bit out of the way, very scenic, maybe with a bit of nightlife, and day activities -- trekking, kayaking, snorkeling, etc. Not interested in the city or shopping at all.

TIA for any suggestions.

Do you like cruises? Its definitely different than a normal vacation but its SO relaxing since so much of the planning is taken care of for you. I went on one with my family a few years ago to the Caribbean (haiti, mexico, caymen islands, and jamaica) and it was so nice to have so much included and to have activities planned and available to you. Idk if I would describe a cruise as scenic but its relaxing and a unique vacation.
