I was just wondering if/how anyone brought up going ring shopping.? My BF whas mentioned previously that he wants me to go with him to look at rings since it''s something I will wear forever (and I am all for helping pick it out). I feel now is a good time to start looking, but I don''t want to be obnoxious at all or too pushy, so is there a suble way to hint at this that works well?

How about saying "I passed by such and such jewelry store and they have some lovely rings there, didn''t u mention something about us taking a look at rings?"
I don''t think you can go wrong any way you bring it up because he was the one who came up with the idea in the first place. good luck!

Maybe on your next trip to the mall you can suggest you walk through one of the stores you pass "just for fun". Do you think now is a good time to start looking because he''s been talking about getting engaged in the near future? If not, and you''re afraid of scaring him or being pushy, maybe you can throw the idea out in the context of wanting to go looking together now so when the time comes it can be more of a surprise. I''ve had some friends who went looking together and had their rings the next week - some of them were surprised because of the quick turnaround, but others wished there''d been a bigger time gap to help w/ the element of surprise.

I agree with both ladyciel and DMBsGirl! There''s absolutely no harm in bringing it up again, since he broached the subject first (IMO).

That first time looking around is SO much fun, especially once the two of you loosen up and get into the groove of shopping around. Have fun!!

Good suggestions- thanks! I''m in a friend of mine''s wedding this weekend, so I''ll let him relax a little until that is over and then put a stop in at the mall, or at least bring it up. Thank again. I''ll keep ya posted.

Every time we would pass by a jewellery store i''d stop and ogle all the pretty rings. I''m pretty sure he knew i wanted a ring (i would hope so after 8 years) and one day he just said, what kind of ring would you like and i said i''d need to actually try them on. That weekend, i suggested we go pick up a few things at the mall (and of course there just a few of the biggest jewellry stores in that mall) and we started looking at diamonds (size, shape, cut, color) and started looking at settings! One month later the ring is ordered and now all i have to do is wait
