Hi girls!! (and guys)

Somehow I found this site and fell in love instantly! I love all wedding chat right now and any forum I can come to and get advice or ask questions is wonderful! I am getting married 12/27/08 and am probably about 3/4ths done planning the wedding! The gown I ended up choosing was a Maggie gown style Irina. http://www.maggiesottero.com/dress.aspx?style=S5112 Anyone else wearing this dress on their big day? It was between that and a Priscilla of Boston gown:http://www.priscillaofboston.com/dress_detail.jsp?gid=600&sfid=50430&f=. It was a REALLY hard decision, and it just came down to me not feeling AS comfortable in the Priscilla gown plus it was almost 3,000 dollars! WOW.

So - our wedding is at 6 PM and my bridesmaids will be pretty formal in black strapless silk long dresses that are stunning. I just picked them out yesterday and I wish I knew the style name! I need to call the boutique and ask so I could get some feedback. However, my fiance is trying to claim he doesn''t want his groomsmen in tuxes. Don''t they need to be? Its a pretty formal wedding and I think it would really look spectacular if they wore tuxes.. he is putting up a fairly good fight. What do you guys think?

Haven''t decided on wedding hair yet.. but I am leaning towards this picture so far (as of now) http://weddings.theknot.com/ODB/themes/realweddings/detailview.aspx?id=20027&type=3%2c11&wedding_details=Hair&pageIndex=3&MsdVisit=1 I never thought I would wear a veil, and I still haven''t decided although my mother is trying to insist!!

Makeup?? What are you girls doing? I''m thinking about just going to the Chanel counter at Macy''s and letting this beautiful makeup artist do it. Any other ideas??

Okay.. sorry if this is ultra-annoying! I don''t get to do much wedding chat!!

Hi ljsmith! Welcome to Pricescope. I haven''t really decided what to do for makeup either. Let me know what happens if you decide to go to the Chanel counter at Macys. I would love to see how it turned out. Good luck!

It looks like you''ve pulled a lot together already. Beautiful dress and hair choice especially! I am going to have an evening wedding as well, haha. But my wedding is a long time after yours, it''s 06/20/2009. So what other things have you checked out? What kind of music are you having? What kind of venue? Ahhh so many questions! Haha. Anyway, you''re not being annoying because I know how you feel 100%. Which is another reason why I

PS. Also, everyone is nice here. Are you going to try the Chanel counter? I am still not what sure what to do about make-up. I have some inspiration photos, but that''s it.

Hi! Glad I''m not the only one then! Our venue is a huge industrial warehouse that has been turned into an art studio. It has 60+ artists studios and shops. They will open up for the event! Our ceremony and reception are taking place in a beautiful room with tons of columns we have decided to light up. We are having black tableclothes, white square china, and beautiful red roses and amaryllis centerpeices. As far as ceremony music we have hired a Harpist to play before and during the ceremony and then we have a DJ who plays for a pretty big club in Louisville during our reception. We have our entire menu planned and we will have an open bar for 4 hours. Almost decided to go with 5 hours, but figured a lot of the people would leave after 4, if not before.

Hmm.. what else? My FI is an artist so we are using paintings of him & i to decorate different spots of the reception area. We are having an ice luge to make into a martini bar for our speciality cocktail hour drink. There are so many small details I can''t even think of right now! I just hope everything turns out okay!

It sounds like you have a lot done already! And it sounds like your venue will be awesome since you can do a lot with it. Have you got to the make-up counter yet? Are you looking for something more natural or more dramatic? Maybe we can suggest some ideas! I forgot to answer this before, but the groomsmen don''t need to be in tuxes necessarily. However, if your bridesmaids are in really formal dresses which it kind of sounds like they are, then the groomsmen should be in black suits or tuxes. You don''t have to wear a veil, but I think a veil would look spectacular with your dress! Anyway, hope this helps some.
