Hey gal!
35.gif

I read somewhere here that you had personally seen one of BGD''s new signatue cushions, and had perhaps also seen a GOG cushion, and have seen RBs obviously... how did the new BGD cushions look to you wrt optical performance compared to an RB and the GOG chunky monkey''s (if you had seen one of those)?

I have an RB now but I really love cushions and the squarer shape. I want something more unique that will be more *me*, and since I can trade in my RB with BGD my wheels are turning. But it is hard to contemplate without seeing one in person! Any information you can give would be uberhelpful.

She's unplugging for a bit.

But I also saw the new BGD cushion with her and it is STUNNING. A very different look than the GOG cushions-but a good look if you ask me! I wouldn't hesitate to get one. It's more similar to a modern cushion but has nice big flashes of color still. A great stone IMO.

Thanks NF. I am so jealous you saw it, how did it come about?

Gypsy had it because her cousin had it out on memo (considering buying for her engagement ring) I believe. And I now live a town over from Gypsy.

Hi Dream! I am unplugging-- but am (kinda) checking Hangout for updates on people's job/health occassionally. Thank you Neatfreak, for covering me!!

AmberGretchen should have pics of the diamond she was going to post the pics from the GTG but I guess she hasn't had time to post them yet. She's a good picture taker and had a nifty new camera.

The cushion was beautiful, it had a nice amount of contrast, the optical symmetry was lovely and it was a very bright stone. It's a modern cushion in facetting, but not busy (not radiant like at all). I loved it. And I got to see it next to NF's cushion from Mark, and really they were differences in facetting, but not in performance. Neatfreak's cushion is a stunner too.

My cousin now has a BGD cushion (not the one I saw, she wanted a larger one than that one) but I haven't seen her (I'm unplugging from family too...lol) at all and my camera skills, we'll they're bad at best, honestly. LOL.

Have you asked Brian and Lesley if you can have one sent to a local appraiser or to you (you'd have to buy it, I'm sure, but still)? I generally think fancy's need to be seen to be appreciated, and with cushions and all the different types of them, it's just really nice to have them in front of you.

Can't wait to see what you get Dream!

Sorry I haven''t had time to post the pics yet - I promise I will try to get to it as soon as I can! Our move has been a bit of a disaster thus far (long story involving a rental and some horrible health issues from allergies - I''m not quite ready to go into the details yet, but I think everything will work out fine), but needless to say, I haven''t had a ton of time for posting pics - sorry about that

Oh, and I can attest the cushion was absolutely breathtaking in person - truly stunning!

I''m so sorry to hear that honey. Much dust and good wishes for smooth sailing ahead. ((HUGS)) to you, DH and the kitties.

Thanks so much Gypsy! This is something I may really think about doing if it can be arranged cross-border. I do love my RB but there is just something lacking for me and I think it is the unique factor. I have always loved cushions but haven''t felt like going through the rigamorole to find a nice one, but if I can get one from a trusted source that is a while nother kettle of fish. This isn''t happening anytime soon, if it happens, but my wheels are turing. I want to get my forever stone KWIM, and then get a forever setting and be done with it!

and will be living with family in two different cities for a month! What were we thinking?

If you manage to post the pics I would love to see them, get well soon!

Cushions are unique. But a bit of a trend now on PS. I do love mine though and have never owned a round solitare.

The rounds I have are in rings with multiple stones or are earrings and they do have a different kind of sparkle than the cushions.

And I don''t see very many cushions out in public -- so you would be unique out in the "real world"/non PS world.

Try them!!!
