Is that Kerry in the photo?

Nope! Different province. Actually, not even on the mainland (although there is a bridge). Wanna guess again?

Mmmmm I''ll have to put my thinking cap on when I''m in work
3.gif
It looks beautiful though! I spent the bank holiday weekend in France where it rained from the minute we arrived up until the minute we left! Got the wine picked for the wedding though! I heard that it was lovely weather over here-typical!

Aw no, I''m sorry to hear you got rained out of it in France! Last time I was in Paris it bucketed for the entire ten days. It was still great though. Even rain is romantique en Francais
2.gif
Did you get to taste lots of yummy wine at least?

Exciting news here: FI wants to go up to ''the castle'' this weekend. Just for a mooch. Do we need to make a booking to see a co-ordinator or can we just mooch around ourselves?

Yep we tasted so much wine-it was all delicious. My dad is going totally overboard and has ordered 120 bottles each of red and white and 60 bottles of sparkling rose! I don''t know who he''s expecting to drink that much but at least no-one will go thirsty!

WOOHOO about the castle
36.gif
36.gif
I think that the woman had said to me that I needed to book in if it was a weekend as they are busier then and they''ll make sure that someone can show me around. I''d say it would be fine too if you just head up there as they''ve always been so nice but it might be worth emailing them to check. Have you any dates in mind? Enjoy it-I can''t wait to go up and have a look around again!

Well ye''ll just be drinking ''wedding wine'' for months (or years!) afterward
18.gif

I said it to FI about booking in to be shown around but he says he doesn''t see the point. He thinks we''ll know it all just by looking at the place. Hmmmm
20.gif

FI thinks Winter 09/ Spring ''10 would be nice (which it would). But he might be in for a nasty shock venue-wise methinks.

Haha D was the exact same. I remember when we went on the Sunday with our parents, we asked could we look around and they had the ballroom done up with all the different colours etc, so that might be nice to go and see. Winter 09 would be gorgeous-I love the winter photos there with the lights around the main door.

How did the weekend at the "castle" go? I''m dying to hear!

Aw, you''re so sweet to think of it!!!

We didn''t make it in the end, we ended up going to visit FI''s sister instead and went to an 80s night and boogied away to all the oldies

Wedding planning has taken a bit of a stressful turn as people have started making demands
20.gif

Oh no! Tell them to bugger off! What are they demanding? I hate it when people but in to wedding planning!

Um, everything?
20.gif
I don''t want to talk bad about someone on a public forum but let''s just say weddings sure do bring out the outrageous in people!

Hey in other news I''ve been apartment hunting in Dublin
35.gif
Well, I''ve been stalking Daft. I''m in shock at the price of rent
39.gif

Oh tell me about it. In fairness, my family have been amazing but some member''s of the other family who shall remain nameless are trying to pick some details.

Rents are crazy here! Are you hoping to rent north or south of the liffey?

A friend of a friend of a friend kind of situation might have a sublet in Terenure. I can''t afford it at the moment, and would need to find a flatmate, but maybe they''ll come down with the rent. I''ve also applied for on-campus accommodation at uni. It just works out the cheapest - en suite room with all bills paid and broadband for €700ish a month. I won''t know for sure about that for another two weeks. They''re blaming the delay on the post-CAO-offers rush, but the CAO shouldn''t affect postgrad rooms and anyway I got my application in before the offers came out
20.gif

In other news, FI said maybe we''ll go venue scoping next week
36.gif

And we''re going to the Electric Picnic, I scored free tickets!!!
36.gif
36.gif
36.gif

Free tickets to Electric Picnic?! Sweet! I know so many people going to that. D and I are going to Kerry with Amber instead though for the week. Manolo is being looked after by my parents.
I can''t wait to hear how you get on venue shopping. You''ll have to visit our Castle! I can''t wait to go out there again. Might go for a Sunday lunch soon.
Terenure would be a great place to live. That''s just down the road from my family house and D is from there also. It''s lovely and safe and there are so many restaurants and so many bus routes through it.

So on-campus accommodation didn''t work out. They told me when I applied that there were still five or six rooms available, and that I''d be first in teh queue, and then they made me wait four weeks to tell me for sure. And today they tell me I haven''t been allocated a room. Honestly I think my uni operates in a parallel little la-la land where reality or practicality are things ''other people'' have to deal with and they don''t. I have no idea now what I''m going to do
7.gif

OK vent over, I will cheer up now. In happier news, FI and I have 99% set a date!!! Woohoo!!!

bee have you ever heard anything about Dunboyne Castle? We''ve put a hold on a date there...

Aww, Dester, I''m sorry about the rooming issue. That''s exciting you''ve set a date, though! How''s your thesis coming?

Woohoo
36.gif
36.gif
36.gif
That''s amazing that you''ve put a hold on a venue! I''ve never been to a wedding there myself but my parents have and said it was great. What month are you going for?

That''s rubbish about the accomodation-I can''t believe they waited that long to tell you. Keep checking daft.ie-I always find them great.

Ladypirate, you mentioned the war! No talk of thesis in here!

I haven''t seen you on Ravelry lately, you been up to anything crafty?
36.gif

bee that''s great to hear a good report on Dunboyne Castle. We chose it because the function room was a bit smaller than the other places we looked, and we thought it would be a nice size for our numbers. The menus looked tasty too, I''m looking forward to our tasting
18.gif

Remember that date we wanted this year that my cousin snaffled (unknowingly)? We got the same weekend in 2010. So we will wake up on our seven year anniversary MARRIED!
9.gif

Oh wow that would be cool!! I so wanted to get married to D on our anniversary but we would have had to wait another three years! Woohoo happy booking!

Another three years from now (
23.gif
) or another three years from when you booked?

Oops! Sorry for bringing it up!

I haven''t been on Ravelry lately, although I''ve been doing some knitting. I''ll have to get around to posting it! I''ve also been making curtains for our house (you can see the ones I did for the bedroom in my Who''s Who thread). Most of my time has been taken up with job searching so I haven''t been doing much crafting. I''m hoping to do more once it gets a bit colder though--when the weather is so gorgeous, it''s hard to stay inside!

It would have been July 2011
23.gif
So needless to say we won''t be getting married on our tenth anniversary. Ah well, now we''ll just have to celebrate twice
3.gif

ladypirate looking forward to seeing your knitting again soon! I still drool over your Salina sweater
30.gif

bee isn''t that crazy? All these venues, they virtually hold couples to ransom with dates and then with what you can and can''t have and what you''ll pay for it...
38.gif

I know-it''s mad isn''t it. When we were booking ours, the woman told me that a lot of couples who weren''t engaged yet were booking venues for years in advance. That just seems crazy.

Hi Delster!
35.gif
Just wanted to pop in and see how you are doing. How is engaged life treating you? Hope you are well!

Hi Miscka honey, good to see you, I''ve missed you!!!

Engaged life is good
9.gif
Although I''ve moved now, and FI isn''t here, so that is weird. But we''re used to long distance so we''ll be fine

Are you in Dublin yet Delster?

Maaaaybe!

You can''t tease like that! Did you get your accomodation sorted?

I did
9.gif

woohoo! how are you finding things up here? Are you living near town or are you further out. If you need anything just give me a shout!

It''s been all good so far bee! My life has gone manic though, I''m hardly home. My PS time has vanished!!!

I''m close to town, it''s so convenient. And dangerous, too easy to get to all those shops
