Tequila and gin are the two things that have done Dee wrong in this life. To this day, 25 years later, the smell of gin is enough to bring me to my knees. Now tequila... I have a lovely bottle that someone gave me as a gift (obviously they didn't know me very well!), and if this storm lasts long enough and I run out of wine The Big T and I might make up and become friends again.

LOL! Uh oh... that sounds like trouble DeeJay! I hope you stocked up on lots o wine so you don't have to go that route! heheh I'm exactly the same way with gin. I had a bad experience with it when I was younger and no way can I drink it now. Even the smell make me

Autumnovember - Yes, yes, me too. I mostly make margaritas with it. I can drink it straight, but always need a bit of lime with it. Ahh... reminds me of vacation in Mexico.

LOL Big T, glad to hear we're still/again friends!

So the little snow plow cat thingys are working tripple time on the sidewalks and in the courtyard of my complex. I just went down and opened the front door to see what was going on and was met with a little drifted bank of snow that had blow up against the frosted glass door. It does seem to be coming down pretty steady... at this rate I may have to hook The Demon and Oscar to a sled to get to work tomorrow!

Portia, it's only a five block walk to my office, but I do work from home with relative frequency (especially when I'm doing large projects that take a lot of uninterrupted time because there are always so many people calling me, stopping by, etc., when I'm in the office that it's hard to keep momentum going on a big project). I think tomorrow is definitely going to be one of those work at home days! Can you work from home? Are you anticipating a hellish commute tomorrow, or are you just planning on a "snow day"?

That's good that you don't have to go in tomorrow. Demon and Oscar are probably like... whew, we're off the hook! No dog sledding tomorrow!

I didn't go in today and not going in tomorrow either. I don't think my M3 would make it up to North Chicago! I really need a different car for winter. I can work from home as long as I can connect to my client's VPN so I should be good for tomorrow. I actually worked from home for about 4 yrs and only started commuting again this past Nov. I hate it with a passion!! Bleh!

I say we break out the tequila/limes/salt, corona's, and then light a candle I have thats called "caribbean scent".....we can close our eyes while we sip on beer and then we can take shots. Sounds perfect.

Wellllll... I might have been a little optomistic in thinking it wasn't going to be as bad as they predicted...

And when they finally did get outside a while later the snow was up to poor Oscar's schnitzel. He is a picky pee-er and poop-er under the best of circumstances, but snow up to the schnitzel... not a drop.

Poor Oscar! I have to say, though--"snow up to the schnitzel" had me cracking up!

We had to shovel out a path for little Willie so he could go out last night. He's only eight inches tall, so he would have been buried in the snow! The pups were both scared of the winds last night, so they only stayed out long enough to do their business. Bailee is loving it now, however. I'll take videos of her running through the snow later today. It's up to her neck, so she looks hilarious. There's a huge snow drift right in front of our house, it's really crazy.

Haven, I was actually thinking that if the snow was this high on my two, I don't now what the people with smaller dogs are going to do!

Here is The Scardy Demon right when the thundersnow started. This is a dog who DOES NOT like thunder and lightening! He didn't come out from under the dining room table the whole time it was going on.

Yes indeed Tub Tub, it was dubbed "thundersnow" by our weather people. And as you can see, The Demon was not too happy about it!

Here is pic one of my friends snapped from his office window. These are tourists climbing up the mound of snow on the Wacker Side of the Sears Tower. Come for the deep dish pizza, stay for the blizzard, LOL!

Okay, the pups and I had so much fun playing in the snow! Willie (the Shih Tzu) stuck to Bailee's path through the snow, but Bailee had a BLAST! She disappeared at times, and that freaked me out a little bit, I'll admit.

Do you see the height of that snow line? Yikes!

The snow drift in front of our house is crazy high! It's up to my shoulder at some parts.

I had to add one...

Did anyone else catch the tail (ha!) end of WGN morning news? They had one dude out with a Weber Grill. They had some other staffers dressed up in costumes from Fantasy Costumes and they were just playing tug of war and throwing snow at each other. It was ridiculous fun.

We had a PLOW stuck in our driveway. Plow. Stuck. In our driveway. Just glad the neighbors we share a driveway with didn't need an ambulance or a pizza.

I'm in Chicago and this was the scene outside my window just a few minutes ago. DH's Grand Cherokee is the grey one on the left. The idiot in the white Cherokee thought he could drive over 2 feet of snow. He was mistaken. We were watching anxiously to make sure he didn't slide into DH's Jeep while trying to do the impossible....
