Hi everyone,
I am having a cocktail style reception in Miami Beach. For the first two hours, we will have passed hors d''oeuvres (probably 6 each hour). For the third hour, we will have a S''mores station/fire pit and wedding cake. Please take a look and let me know what you think. Willl it be enough food? F.Y.I.... it will say "cocktail reception to follow" on the invites. Also, guests are not limited to 1 piece of each hors d''ouevre, instead each item will be passed for an hour, so they can have as many as they llike.

Grilled Gruyere Cheese Melt w/ Spicy Tomato Soup Shot
Mini Burgers w/ Tomato Jam, Bleu Cheese and Cornichons
Chicken Brochette w/ Mango Rum Chutney
Nantucket Scallop Ceviche, Micro Cilantro, Tangerine Mint Citrus Marinade
Vegatable Spring Roll, Sweet Chili Garlic
Ham Croquettes, Smoked Gouda

Chicken Empenada, Red and Yellow Tomato Pico de Gallo
Braised Beef Short Rib, Yukon Gold Potato Puree and Parmesan Crisp
Hawaiin Hearts of Palm, Avocado and Citrus Vinaigrette
Papa Rellena, Salsa ala Huancaina (sauce made with Queso Blanco and Aji Amarillo)
Mini Crab Cakes with Nicoise Olive Ratatoullie and Saffron Mayonnaise
Shrimp Cocktail

Hello fellow south floridian

That menu sounds delicious!! I think it should be plenty food and it looks like you have a huge variety.

Hello from Central Florida!

Sounds absolutely delightful to me. I had an hors d'oeuvres reception, too, and there was more than enough food. That sounds like a delicious assortment and that it will be plenty.

My suggestion is to give a few extra to the headcount just in case. I was expecting 25 and sent the caterer a headcount of 30. (We ended up with a lot more food, however, because only 19 of those 25 showed up.)

Another Floridian here. That sounds fantastic and so yummy! I love the smore idea too!!!

I think the menu looks great and very yummy! Can I make one tiny suggestion though? Are you going to have any plain foods? Like fruit or cheese or something? When there are so many cooked dishes with different flavors (the hors d''ouevres), sometimes its nice to have something simple and fresh to give your tastebuds a little break. It''s certainly not necessary though and just my opinion.

Your menu made my stomach growl. Hehe. Looks delicious.

The menu sounds great! I was going to say something similar to Oobe, but also, I was wondering if you considered having any of the hors d''eovres stationed? I only say this because although you may have enough for all the guests to eat their fill, depending on how many servers there are, and the notion that polite people only take once piece of food at a time (and then often never see the servers in that area again), people might get as much as they want.

Hi sslkrissi

The menu sounds really good, and as mentioned, it definitley has a nice mix of foods while incorporating the "Miami" theme. Can I ask where you are getting married though?

Thanks!

Sounds good to me, but I also would suggest some fresh fruit or something else as well.

And I LOVE cornichons!!!!!!!!YUM!!!!!!!!!!!!

those sound yummy, but as others have mentioned, I would also include fruit or something to lighten up everything. I want a grill cheese sandwich now.
