I am getting married Saturday in a hotel. I''ve worked with the same catering person for a year and a half, and I''ll be giving her a little gift at the end of all this. But on the day of, they''re assigning me a "coordinator" who I''ve never worked with previously. The fee for the coordinator is $50. Should I pay her a tip???

Hi T!

I''m so excited for you! I can''t wait to hear all about your wedding -- Allison and I are getting together in a couple of weeks, and I''m looking forward to hearing about your big day.

Okay, now to your question...

Well, I''m not sure what the proper thing to do would be, but considering you don''t have a previous working relationship with this coordinator, I don''t think you''d have to tip her. If the catering company assigned someone to work with you (meaning you didn''t seek out a DOC on your own), I don''t think you should feel obligated to pay extra on top of the fee.

Maybe others would tip anyway but I wouldn''t bother.

I''d say if you feel she''s done a great job the day of maybe you could give her a small tip?

Otherwise, I am only responding because I wanted to echo Zoe''s sentiments that I am SO EXCITED FOR SATURDAY I CAN BARELY SLEEP!!!!!
