Thank you Penn!!!!...I like the style but would like it to be a bit more modern. Great suggestions though!! Keep them coming :))

So you think #1 would not really fit well with the space?

M~

I voted for the first one, though I think the other two are more "classic." The first one has such pretty, graceful lines.

Hey Mandarine!

Pretty house!

I like the number two option, in the pewter color. So pretty!! The room is nice and could handle any of your choices though.

I also like number one, but have a friend who doesn''t dust fixtures much and it''s a hot mess with dust, and it seems to really attract dust into the little nooks and crannies of the fixture. Just something to think about (although I don''t see you as one who''d let dust pile up at all!).

Hi Mandarine!

I love #2 (with the ivory shades). My second choice would be the third one you posted -- I''ve never seen one like that. I wasn''t crazy about the first one -- sorry!

Mandarine, have you checked out Restoration Hardware? They have lots of chandeliers with clean modern lines that would look very nice with your furnishings.

pennquaker, this is a companion light to the one you posted. This is a powder room in a spec house I did. I was NOT happy with the walls the faux painter did.

This is the pedestal sink and tile work in the same powder bath.

I like the second choice-with the ivory shades.

The first one would definitely fit, but I think you need a combination of shades and crystals. That was the reasoning behind the other choices. Also, with the exception of the nickel finished chandelier, your other choices are traditional in style and the pictures of your home show a somewhat traditional style. I probably wouldn''t get anything without a dark finish. The nickel would look odd and it would stand out, in a bad way, in your home. It''s all about flow and coordination.

I think that you really like the first one and you should get that it. However, how much are you attached to that ceiling fan in the other room? I would probably replace it with another chandelier from the same line. And this is REALLY important, make sure you get a matching medallion to put on your ceiling.

I like your style. I love the green on the walls in your billiards room. What else do you have planned for that room? OMGosh, this makes me miss my job so much, lol.

Thank you everyone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is such a hard chocie...I am just not a decorator! I know the "feel" I want the house to have and the style I like...I just don''t know how to pull it all together!!!

Penn- I am not attached to the fan...but DH is...LOL...so no much play room there. In the family room we will eventually get a new sofa and an accent chair. I also want a rug (maybe a persian rug) in light/soft colors so soften up the room. The opposite wall of the family room is a large wall and I want to have a rustic looking (or with iron accents) console table with a large mirrror on the top and maybe simple candle sconces on the sides. I definitely want a mirror there to bring some light in.

We also have some important sculptures that will need to find a home around the house....no idea where they will go though...we did hang one in the corner in the family room (tough to see from that picture).

For the dining room I want simple, elegant yet cozy. I would like a buffett table in the back wall with some sort of art on the top. We will eventually get a new table too (I am not crazy about that one) which will be more substantial (I find that one to be a bit "skinny"...hehe)

So the matching medallion...is that like a ceiling plate? they all need to be the same?. Thanks for all the help

Yeah, I did think your table was a little on the small side, lol. I''m not an interior designer, but I worked as a Project Manager and a design consultant for a home builder. In that capacity, I helped people with decisions regarding the finishes and upgrades in their homes. I have a strong interest in interior design and I''ve actually thought about going back to college and getting a design degree.

On and the medallion is basically a huge ceiling plate. Sometimes they are needed and sometimes they are not. It depends on the particular chandelier.

You know, one of the things you can do is get a smaller chandelier and then see if it has matching sconces. Everything doesn''t have to be matchy matchy, but coordination is the key. Like, I would probably take down the ceiling fan and replace it with another one that coordinates with your other fixtures.

Manderine: somehow I guessed #1 would be your favorite. I think it reminds me a little of your wedding dress somehow. I REALLY like #1. I think it would look pretty in your house (and my own actually). It is so unique. The impulsive person in me says "ooohhhh I would LOVE that in my house," BUT the practical person in me thinks that because it is such a specific style, it may not be versatile if you decided to redecorate. And, it may be something that is pretty and mod looking, but in a few years you are like, "wow, that''s a little dated looking." Then again, it may be that you never feel that way about it. That''s just always my fear when I go to buy something edgy or trendy for the house.

At any rate, I like all of the choices you put up. I voted for 2 because it has nice clean lines that I think could blend well into a variety of schemes.
