I'm finally getting around to decorating my bedroom. My room is small....9.5 feet wide X 15 feet long with 3 windows, a closet and the door to the hallway. I have hardwood floors that are finished in kind of a medium walnut. My walls will be a light soft aqua-blue. Trim is a very light cream. My bedding is all white.

My isssue has been finding something to use as a nightstand. I currently have a 1930s waterfall style vanity that is fairly similar to the one below (mine has more inlay patterns & detail and is overall stained darker and also has silver hardware) and a matching armoire. I really like them both but I'm having a hard time finding a nightstand that will coordinate with the curved style of the waterfall furniture. I can't find nor do I really want a matching piece for the nightstand....something a bit different but still coordiantes would be good.

Ideally, I want a small chest because storage is at a premium in my 1400 sq foot house. Max size is 28" wide X 18" deep X 32" high. I want something other than dark wood because there is getting to be too much wood in my room.

So, help me find a chest that coordinates with the waterfall furniture please!

Would a Bombe (Bombay) style chest like this coordinate? This one seemed promising since the bottom was open and would look "lighter" in my room even though it is still darkly colored. My bedroom furniture is pretty close to this color.

This is another one I found. It''s more than double the price of the darker wood one.

Do these coordinate with the waterfall style furniture like in my first picture?

Is that from Bombay company? Just a warning, when I was fresh out of college, I splurged and purchased a whole set of furniture to decorate my apt. Most of it was Bombay. Only two things have survived to this day. One is a bookcase and it''s in perfect condition and the other is a curio shelf. EVERYTHING else fell apart!

MC--Yes, the darker chest is from Bombay Company. I definitely know it''s not top grade furniture. How would you compare it to say, Pier 1?
