Help!!! Leaving in a few hours. Who flies a lot? Luggage question

Ack, I’m about to have a nervous breakdown packing for the get together. It looks like the airline allows checked bag 62 inches and mine is 63.5. Is that getting through or am I paying for oversized? Anyone have a guess?

I have a smaller one, but it’s stuffed to the brim and I still need to add another pair of shoes (to make 2 pair total). I also have cpap and purse so I won’t be bringing a carry on because I am also bringing my crutches just in case.

I think the checked bag should be fine. I don't travel much but the times I did they don't really measure your checked bag when they weight it unless your bag is really an odd size that's easy to spot. One time my dad wanted to check a box of bicycle frame and was asked immediately what was inside the box as the it's an odd size for a normal box and was told to pay for oversized baggage.

It defnitely depends on the airline. Some of the lower budget ones will try to squeeze you out of every dollar possible! I think most of the north american airlines are good with checked bags sizing, they care more about weight (so very overweight checked bags could still get charged $$, but unlikely to measure it).

We use softsided luggage so if there is a problem with the siz I just squish it down in the size rack to show them it fits. But, it does hamper taking breakables.

btw most airlines the cpap does not count as a bag for carry on because it is a medical device.

It definitely depends on what airline you’re flying. It will get weighed though so don’t go over 50lbs.
