I'm hoping someone here can help give me some guidance since I do not know a lot about diamonds or jewlery at all. I have a gorgeous engagement ring that is 3 stone emerald cut. The band has 4 smaller emerald cut diamonds set inside it on each side of the 3 main stones. The prongs that hold the 3 stones are large and stick out from my ring. I purchased a wedding band that I was promised by the jeweler could be notched on both the band and the prongs of my engagement ring so that they sit flush together. They just look funny to me together because the prongs on the engagement ring push the band down - so this seemed like the best option. Now, less that 2 months before my destination wedding outside of the country, the jeweler is telling me he won't notch the rings for me because he doesnt want to damage them or weaken the prongs. I appreciate him being honest and sparing me a damaged ring, but Im very upset because the only reason I purchased this ring was because they promised they could do this. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what type of band I could get that could be notched to sit flush with my engagement ring or maybe is made to be paired with the 3 stone rings that have these large prongs?? The jeweler is willing to refund me my $1700 for the band if he cannot help me but now its a time issue in addition to the fact that I dont have much spare money since this was an expense we thought was already taken care of.
Any help would be appreciated.

Do have a picture? From your description, it doesnt sound like any ready made ring will fit flush and you will probably need to have something custom made. a lot of Hal's with E,earl cut e-rings just opt to wear a wedding solo on the opposite hand.

I agree with Mrs Salvo - photos for sure will help direct where to find a ring and I think custom could be your best option. But.. photos first!
