So I am an idiot and ordered about 100 extra invitations (I was thinking guests instead of invites although I know better and have thought this through before).

So please creative women of Pricescope... what would you do with 100 extra invitations?

I know I will save a few for us, make pretty shawdow boxes for my parents and his parents... and then?

If I could use them in the wedding some how I'd love to... like framed and placed on each RD table as "decoration" or somehow incorporated into the guestbook - or as the guestbook.

I thought that I might be able to use them for the table numbers if I cut out the number and matted it on gold paper.

But I'd be open to any idea... my sister has already suggested lamenated placemats???

Any and all ideas are welcome! Please help this foolish bride come up with some fabulous ideas so I don't feel so bad about the $ and the dumb mistake.

Here is the invite from Paper Dolls Design (which is a fabulous company to work with!). It is shown in taupe ink on ecru paper and ours will be in gold on ecru.

THANKS!!!

* and the title should read I am A idiot... case in point!!!!

The ideas you came up with are good, but remember, you don''t have to use them for anything.

Cut your names out to use as gift tags.

I like the idea of somehow using them for table numbers. But when you were talking about the colors, you said yours WILL BE in gold ink...does that mean you don''t have them yet? Are you absolutely sure it''s too late to call and ask to reduce your order?

i''m with sabine--check and make sure they haven''t completed your order already. maybe you can still reduce it. if not, maybe you could somehow work them into your favors or something. oh, and technically, the title should say "i am AN idiot"

forgive my pickiness--i majored in English, heh! if it makes you feel any better, the invitation mistake is actually really common so don''t beat yourself about it too much! good luck figuring something out!

print your menus on the back?

glue onto a larger piece of cardstock or poster board as directional signs with arrows? as in, "sanchezvvv wedding this way." or a door sign for "bride and bridesmaids'' room" or "groom and groomsmen''s room".

use them to cover a large cardboard box, cut a slit at the top and use as your "gifts and cards" box. you can then use this as a keepsake box to store wedding related stuff.

cut the pretty graphic part of the invitation into escort cards?

cut them into pieces and use them as "well wishes" or "words of wisdom for the bride and groom" cards?

cut them lengthwise in 3 and have a lifetime supply of really pretty bookmarks?

use them as postcards to send out your "new mailing address" announcements?

create photobooks as gifts by having a professional bind several pages of photos and the invitations as the front and back cover?

that''s all I''ve got for now. I love your invitations by the way. They''re beautiful.

I am sorry Sanchez! I think everyone''s given you great ideas. I just wanted to chime in and say you are NOT an idiot, it''s an easy mistake to make!

I was going to say I''ll buy them!! But realized that they are all printed...

Thanks ladies... although I still am AN idiot... I appreciate the feedback. Crown Jewel thanks for all the ideas... I am thinking about using the RSVP cards as some sort of place card at the RD by cutting out the RSVP and ... and I think I am gonna try to use the invitation border as the border for the table numbers by pasting gold paper over the invitation wording and then pasting a number over that. I like the idea of using them to help point people in the right direction and making my own glammed up restroom signs.

Thanks... keep ''em coming...

Oh and i love the idea of using them as the cover and back of a personalized photo book! Thanks!

For the "please join us" cards, you could use an exacto knife to cut around the top half of the "please join us" inset (where it goes into the plain ground), fold the bacground in half horizontally, paste a new something over the old message, and and voila! Instant place cards, little signs, or whatever...

Are they blank invitations you are printing yourself? If so, just print some as table numbers, programs, menus, place cards. If not, I have no suggestion.
