Wedding Help for my mom''s MOB dress!

So I was home over the past week and I went shopping with my mom for a MOB dress. We are having a pretty formal evening wedding in the Spring in the Northwest. She was looking for a dress/gown which would be elegant and also somewhat more than just summery material since it may be cool. We looked at so many stores and she was just getting so frustrated and I feel terrible as I just wanted it to to be a fun experience for us. I think the caveat is that she is frustrated with the fact that she is a bit busty and she was having trouble finding dresses in size 16 that were everything she was looking for.

Any suggestions? I would love to give her some ideas to get excited about. Thanks!

I''m so sorry your mom was frustrated! I''m sure we''ve all been there and feel her pain. At least I know I''ve been there... shopping for jeans is a PITA for me.

I''m not a busty girl myself, so I can''t really help too much, but have you tried Macy''s, Nordstrom, or David''s Bridal? Also (this might be a tad TMI since it''s your mom) but was she wearing a properly fitting bra when she was trying stuff on? That can make such a huge difference.

I definitely feel your pain...well, my mom feels your mom's pain, because my mom is a very petite woman but has a big bust as well. I would suggest a visit to plus size stores that sell dresses...is she open to buying online? If the wedding is in the Spring she would have time to exchange/return things that would not fit. I know most people think plus size stores only carry odl lady dresses, things are better online. My mom is not what I would consider plus size by any stretch of the imagination, but she wears about a size 10 and has to bump up to about 12-14 to fit her bust. What a great website! Those are gorgeous dresses, and I recognize at least two of the labels from shopping at Saks, only MUCH cheaper here! Thanks for sharing

These are great!!! Thank you all so much for the help. I know she has time but I just want her to be happy. First off, we did go to Macys and Nordstom with little luck, however we might have to try David's Bridal as I didn't think of that. Also, I don't think she was wearing the ideal bra so perhaps I'll encourage her to get a better one to go shopping with. Hopefully she can find something she will be happy to wear!

Have you tried looking for something to fit her bust then taking it to get altered to fit the other parts?
