For those who followed a thread last month about HE washers I just wanted to give you all an update in case you were contemplating purchasing one.
I have had my Maytag Bravo HE washer for almost 3 weeks now. The manual stated longer cycle times, but I did more laundry in one day than I had previously. I also went longer between doing loads (10 days instead of 7) because the washer can hold that much more. (I washed a queen comforter with no problems either).
But what really made me jump for joy is that my expensive Cool Max mattress pad that was yellowed (despite washing it numerous times in my old washer) because DH doesn't like to sleep with a shirt on, came out completely clean and white and all I did was wash it with Tide HE detergent in warm water on a bulky cycle.
Also, the machine is extremely quiet, though the dog at first growled at the strange noises it made. ***It is very important that you balance the machine before you use it, otherwise that is the loud banging noise you hear of the machine moving around because it is not level
