Have you been to a psychic

No to the psychic. However, the weirdest thing I ever experienced in that vein...

I was at a party and this guy came up to me. Never met him in my life, but I KNEW him. I knew his face, his voice, his cadence..and his name. I just said, "Hi Chris, how''ve you been." "Fine Karen, and you?" Then we both blinked hard, said "I''ve never met you before!" and spent the next hour trying to figure out if we''d ever crossed paths. Worked at it pretty hard, but no hits. Not highschool, college, various apartments lived at, not even the same city. Still ranks as the weirdest experience of my life. I''ve never crossed paths with this guy again. It was like a cloud of fog beyond the surface. I knew NOTHING about him, but I knew HIM. I know, it makes zero sense....

I believe there are more things in Heaven and Earth (Horatio), but I believe those things are rarely advertising in the local circulars.

I''ve been to two psychics - once in high school when a friend dragged me, and I figured 10 bucks was worth it for the bonding: once at one of my husband''s work parties, when his company paid for a palm-reader alongside a bunch of other entertainers. The high school psychic? Was unmemorable. The party psychic? Tried to tell me I was a "people pleaser" and a few other "not a fortune" tidbits. I am guessing just from my PS posts you can gauge the inaccuracy of this ....

Gypsy, so long as you don''t get taken in by the scams (i.e., the "something bad lies ahead but for the low low price of a gazillion dollars I will avert it ..."), why not? It''s an interesting area to explore. Instead of Yelp, though, I''d see if anyone I knew personally had a recommendation to make ....

I tend to agree.. as long as you take it all with a pinch of salt. I am really suprised to hear about all the people who have been told horrible things too.. all psychics that i have been to only pass on the positive messages, becasue the negative stuff doesn''t help anyone.
I also agree with trying to find someone through word of mouth, the best lady i have been to didn''t advertise because she didn''t need to. Maybe check out a psychic fair if you have one?

I did, when I was trying to sell my house.

A friend of mine suggested it as I was not getting offers and I was in contract already with the other house I was trying to buy.

If I remember correctly, he said that we would buy the house and make it more beautiful than it already was, he told me I could get the house for less than I was paying even though I was already in contract, he said that I would have a buyer by Nov. 15 or 16th ( I spoke to him the last week of October, so I really didn''t believe this), and "the house would be out of my hands by January".

He also said that if I moved to the house I would have another baby (a boy) and that I would live to a very old age and be married to my husband for a long time. My husband was taking a promotion test in Nov. and I asked him if he would pass and get promoted and he said my husband would.

Almost everything he predicted came true. We had an offer and signed binder on Nov. 18th, we closed our old house in January. I had another baby (a girl though, not a boy and it was truly a surprise as we really weren''t trying and I didn''t even know I was pregnant), my husband passed his test and got promoted at work and we also got the house for over $20K less than what we had agreed upon on the original contract!

Now I don''t normally do that sort of stuff but I am glad that what he said came true. I wonder though if it''s a case of self-fulfilling prophecy? If he didn''t tell me I could get my house for less, would I have bothered to make another lower offer? I can say that I didn''t tell my husband he was going to pass the promotion test though and definitely didn''t plan on having any more kids, but I am very happy that I did.

Ksinger: I had a similar experience at a conference recently - I knew someone and she knew me but we'd never met. As it turns our we both live in the same neighbourhoood, and walk and take transit frequently, so we've actualy spent many hours together without officialy meeting.

I wonder if mystery Chris is actualy always at your transit stop, or goes to the same grocery store, coffe shop, doctor, or something like that - places where you see someone on a daily/weekly basis, but never "meet". The fact that you knew eachother's name means that both of you have either overheard eachother talking on a cellphone: "Hi this is Chris, is Stan around?", or have heard eachother addressed by someone else: " Karen here's your latte."

Over the years, I have visited a few just for fun, BUT there was one who stands out in my memory as being dead-on on a number of health issues I wasn''t aware of at the time. He also touched on my teaching career and how my medical issues would impact that as well. The session was taped and included with the reading.

When I got home, I played the tape for DH. To say that he was freaked out would be an understatement. I visited our PCP and had a thorough physical exam as well as a battery of blood tests. The results sent me to a variety of specialists who tried to figure out what was going on. Not one of the physicians told me that it was ''all in my head'', thank goodness and none was ready to give up the search. After several months, there was a diagnosis of sorts, but unfortunately no ''magic pill cure''.

Perhaps this will sound trite or silly, but I credit this psychic with literally saving my life.

I paid for a reading with Sylvia Browne- I waited over a year for it. $750 later I can confirm she is not what she claims to be. So, if you ever wondered if she just might be the real deal she isn''t.

I''m sorry VegasAngel - that must have been so disappointing.. and so much money! I''m not certain what I believe but I know I''m too frugal to pay for it

I don''t think so, because we sat around for an hour at least trying to find ANY connection at all, and never could. Not the same part of town, same highschool, (I think he was a bit older anyway), not college because he didn''t go, not the same career, and not any apartments in common. I''m not one to look for supernatural explanations for things, and I don''t for this one, but this one remains the most stubbornly weird and unexplained event of my life.

Some friends and I went to see a psychic several years ago. I was single at the time and asked her if I would ever find true love and marry again. She told I would find true love later in life, so I asked, "At what age?" She told me "around 35". Hahahaha! I was already in my mid 40''s at the time!!!

At that time I had money to do it so I figured what that heck. She is one of the most known & believed psychics so I figured let''s see what she is all about instead of wondering. The only thing she was 100% right about is my daughter being stubborn as heck which is definitely true. Before the reading I looked online for reviews & only found a few now there is soooo many & she pretty much tells everyone the same stuff. Waste of $750 but I satisfied my curiosity & I can tell others to save their cash, lol.

Hi Susimoo, no worries. I agree with you on the one hand. It would be terrible to know that certain things were inevitable and that free will doesn''t change anything. But on the other hand, look at Isaku''s story. She was going to have a medical condtion either way. Knowing was the difference betwen getting help, and being blind until it was possibly too late. Sometimes I think there are things we can''t change, but we can change the severity of them or our reaction to them with a little foreknowledge. But as you said it is a double edged sword. It each their own. Isabel, I am thrilled that you had that reading, and I agree about it saving your life. ((HUGS)).
